A V-block was a Wee-block. Worked with a guy named "Victor" and the boss called him Wicter.

The boss's brother was Willy. All the Krauts called him Villy.

The good old days. The older ones are all gone now. The ones still living are my age or younger.

I worked with an italian immigrant who was a draftsman. Sometimes a dimension would be missing on a sketch, so he'd ask someone what it should be, and the answer was usually "just eyeball it". When asked about it later, he would say "I just highballed it."

His first name was "Moise", and some of the guys called him "Moist".
