Count me in! I'll bring the ice cream truck. Free ice cream for everyone this day only. (We'll have to charge our regular prices the other days so we can cover our fuel costs. )

Hey Scott! All is good! Still working, not traveling nearly as much though, but that is sort of looking up again.

A friend of mine from work is helping me with Lorelei to get her at least moving and stopping on her own, then I'm farming out a whole bunch of body and electrical work, hopefully will be able to drive her again sometime before I'm all decrepit!

How are you and the fam?

Good to hear!

We're all busy with kid stuff but it's been a blast watching them grow.
Last Barn Raising I was at Danielle was pregnant with Natalie. Now she is 3 and her little brother Trevor is almost 1.5

Also my oldest daughter Abbey, 13 next month, moved in with us full time a year ago and is pulling straight A's in a good private school.

OK. Another Barn Raising would be great. Now find a date and location that more than a handfull of people will actually commit to. I cringe at the inevitable whining about why this date or that date won't work for them. And also, the last minute bail outs after others make the trek. All those great years of CF cruise ins, and the couple Barn Raisings that actually came off seem gone forever. Very few people here are really disposed to commit to a real get together as in the past. I'd love to see it happen, but won't get burned showing up with only a handful of others there again.

Someone would need to commit to doing the planning, if everyone wants some scheduled events. Also, group rates in a hotel, etc. Reservations for meals are usually beneficial, since we're normally a larger group.

You're right...it's hard to get people to commit. And usually, when planning things ahead, people want a head count and payment (or at least partial payment) ahead of time.

For scheduling activities, its also challenging to get a variety of events together where someone can find at least one or two things they'd enjoy...and trying to schedule things in a way that they don't overlap...while at the same time making multiple options available...and trying to fill the whole weekend schedule so there's always at least one thing to do at all times. And you'll never make everyone happy.

On the flip side, it could just be something casual. If everyone is ok with just picking a place to meet and doing things together on the fly, then just a date and location is needed. Everyone books their own room and we just get together. Find things to do, once there.

We could rent a few big beach houses near each other? Fishing, golf, sun, surf, food, tennis, pool, libations?

I would be willing to co-lead the planning process. My schedule being what it is, I don't think I could do it by myself. 4 years of living in Japan, no good Corvette group in the area has me questioning the need for the car and has me considering selling it. I need a good get together to recharge the batteries.

For example, the Hoover Dam tour or any number of shows. Just let everyone know that there is a group going to XYZ on this day at this time...if you want to go, get your tix.

There are probably enough of us that are close enough to drive to give us access to vehicles. I've always thought that Vegas would be a great venue. The issue, if I recall, was that Vegas was not central enough. That seemed to be the issue with a lot of locations that were suggested.

There's still the issue of getting people to commit and getting payment. A lot of people would book at the Hampton to save their spot and then cancel the week before.

It does take a lot of time and coordinating. Calling places and negotiating, getting available times, getting them to commit, working out payment, getting final head counts, etc. Multiply that by the number of activities you're trying to plan...multipled by the number of days.

If you have a day job...it can be challenging. A lot of emailing.

Before any of that happens, everyone would have to agree on a date and a location. There doesn't seem to be any consensus on that at all.

I'm in for some form of insanity wherever it may be.

Vegas is actually interesting and you could rent some fun toys to play with.
