Default Electric Shavers - I Need Reviews Please

My three head Norelco finally stb...Well actually, one of the round blades along with the assembly, fell into the toilet while it was flushing, and it's gone.... Anyway, has anyone switched from a Norelco, to another electric, and thought it was heads above the Norelco ? The Norelco did the job adequately, but I'm looking at other options, before I go buy another...

I've tried a couple of other razors, but keep coming back to my Norelco.

Too bad you couldn't wait until the Father's Day sales, they almost ALWAYS include a razor or 2!!

It's worth it, though. Look on Amazon. You'll probably find them a little cheaper. I've never used an electric that has gotten as close with so little razor burn as the Braun stuff.

I can wait....I still have 2 of the 3 blades left in it... I like the 3 blades better than the 2 though, that's for sure. The Norelco really is a work horse, and is ok with me. I was just wondering if the others are worth the hype.

I have never found an electric razor that worked worth a crap for me, and I'm not gonna gamble $200 to take a chance.

This. I've tried the Braun. Didn't like it as much as the Norelco's I've had.

I'm on my second Braun electric razor. They are great. I replaced the first one when it wasn't holding a charge very well. I've been shaving with Braun electrics for over 10 years and they are totally worth the extra cash. You just replace the cutting blade/guard once every two or three years. My current one can go easily 7 or 8 shaves in a row without needing a charge, handy for when you take it on a trip.

Hmmm, interesting....My Norelco doesn't seem to spin as fast as I would like, therefore shaving time seems to be longer than I'd like it to be. I seem to have to run over the same spots over and over to get the job done. I have changed the blades out, and it still seems to be a speed thing, and not a blade sharpness thing.......

That definitely isn't a problem with the Braun. It has a linear motor BTW, not a rotational motor. I'm not saying you won't have to go over the same area a few times, you will, but even with just a couple of quick passes it's got the vast majority whacked. The older model I had was pretty bad about not cutting off long stray hairs but the new model does an excellent job on them. They changed the design of the guard to fix that issue.

I used a barber's straightedge from 1964 to 1968...safety razor thereafter. I've been shaving for 50 years...every day I can put a blade next to my throat and not slice a jugular is a good day.
