Default Yee haw!! [RV]

I bought it!

32' 2006 Trail Sport by R-Vision. It's got a really big awning, probably around 22 feet or more. We were able to check out just about everything last night, and it all seems to be working. I can't detect any odor of mildew inside; in fact, it's clean as a whistle.

She's only seen the Utah-quality pics, so far. I was gonna take it home last night but decided against it. I'm going to get it this morning.

Oh, and I know very little about RV's. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Smart remarks are welcome, too.

I'll find out in about two hours when I attempt to make "the turn."

Actually I'm going to find a great, big, empty parking lot and turn it around to measure how it will turn. I may have to make some landscaping changes (I never liked those azaleas in that location anyway ) but I'll make it work one way or another.

If worse comes to worst, I'll just do a George Washington / Trayvon Martin on that small tree in the center of the driveway turn-around.

Very nice! Slightly more roomy than the '68 scotty 13' I picked up a week ago.

A second fire alarm and second CM (Carbon Monoxide) detector.

At least one GOOD fire extinguisher. No, that little red powder extinguisher that comes with all units is not good enough. You can not imagine how fast a fire in an RV goes. Note: in addition to a 1 gallon extinguisher, have small (hair spray sized cans) at the dash, in the bedroom, etc.

For kitchen fires there's fire blankets to put them out.

Rear view camera system (about $250).

My camper is the size of your awning...

Look familiar?

Make sure to store it level or gravity will start pulling things apart. They use a lot of adhesive in these things.

If it's got lots of miles on it I'd replace all the wheel bearings and inspect the brakes before you travel. Even if they are good, at least inspect and grease the bearings. Nothing worse than a fried bearing on the side of the road.

What are you towing it with? Whatever it is, get a tranny cooler installed right away.

First thing: go to RV Supplies, RV Accessories & RV Parts for Motorhomes, Campers, Travel Trailers & 5th Wheel Campers - fifth wheel camper - Camping World and sign up for Presidents club. You'll get great discounts on all the shit you're gonna buy. Go to Wally world and get some RV toilet/ Black water deodorant and some sink/ grey water deodorant. Use them as per directed. Keep water in the grey/ black water tanks to minimize the valve gaskets drying out. You'll want at least 20 ft. of sewage hose and a 25 Ft. 30 amp extension cord.

Buy a roll up wheel chock. What this does is allow you to change a tire without a jack. This should be the first thing you buy. 2nd should be tire pressure monitors. A blow out will rip the wheel well apart. Trust me on this. Either build levelers or buy them from camping world.

I've RV'd most my life. Enjoy !
