Underside of stock hood

What does the underside of your stock hood look like? Is the paint as good as the rest of the car? Mine sucks, no shine and spots where there isn't even any color, just white from the sealer or whatever. Oh well.

don't know...mine is pretty clean/shiny and matches the color of the car.

The dark gray/black piece that covers most of it is dirty. One of my "on the list of things to do". Just need to research on how to remove it without tearing it.

Just pop the dozen or so plastic retainer push-pins out and the liner falls off the hood.

Get 2 fingers under the retainer, and pull them out. This is all you're battling:




If you do manage to break one, replacements can be found at hardware stores and probably Autozone.

Mine looks like this about 13-15 coats of clear and the removal of some finger prints to get it that way... oh you said stock.

They're all like that.... not sure if it's just a base coat w/o any clear or if it's some sort of matte single-stage they use.
