The author sounds like a liberal cuck who would love living locked down in a 15 minute city. He's simply jealous of those who don't live in a filthy ant colony like those of his ilk. I live in the country, but still have to travel into the city for doctor's appointments once or twice a year. Back in my old stomping grounds. Every time I have to do it, it sets my teeth on edge. The crowding, the noise, the filth, the lack of manners, and the ever-present construction. I don't know how I ever did it before. I get back home and breathe a sigh of relief that I no longer have to live like that.

I go to the beach occasionally for business or a necessary service provider and it sucks.

Destin used to be a very laid back white bread little beach town. Now there are minorities and other undesirables everywhere. Non stop highway, condo and apartment construction.

Of course all the fault of the government and community "leadership".
And the Tourist Development Council is sitting on 600M in cash they collected from bed taxes. At this point is there really a need for "tourist development"? Holy crap the place is bumper to bumper with idiots.

Why anyone would spend millions to live in that tourist trap chithole is beyond me. We should have left years ago.

This is how I feel about the whole state. Our sleepy farming town has gone from 3100 people to almost 40K. Every single undeveloped place is gone, yet the "City Leaders" can't stop pushing to build more. Now it's "Afforadable Housing" (Ghetto Apartments). There's no jobs here, just houses. Who needs afforadable housing 20 miles from work? NOBODY. I found that 90% of the politicians and council members for the country are actually...REALTORS. SURPRISE!!!!

I also noticed that one section of town has no affordable housing,has big lots and big houses. It's also where every last one of the realtors and other politicians live. Thinking maybe I should become a realtor and work on bringing afforadable housing to that part of town....
