Nearly everything is 10mm, or 14 mm. We occasionally run into a 12 or a 17, and there may have been a 15 in there, but 10 is the dominant size on this car. |

Today she got the A/C compressor and the power steering pump installed. She relegated me to reconditioning her nasty-ass exhaust. We did buy some 2,000 degree header paint, so we're continuing the eclectic theme of her car on those items. Photos of exhaust tomorrow.
Installing A/C compressor Installing the power steering pump If money were no object, we'd have replaced all of the accessories She did her best to remove 20 years of grime from them. Should have some good video of her doing all of the work, but my wife and I are going out to dinner. Will do the videos later. Last edited by Datawiz; 07-18-2014 at 5:25pm. |

We didn't get a ton done on the car today because we had two major "other" things to resolve. First off, we desperately wanted to get the garage cleaned so Mom could finally park her SUV back in the garage, and second, I had to replace to driver's window glass in my '06 Vette. We still don't know why it broke.
She got both heat shields re-installed on the underside We finished painting the headers and exhaust...because Ninja Turtles. Blue (for Leonardo, we had every other turtle color covered before the exhaust) We're close to installing the headers and the exhaust, but one of the pressed bolts to mate the cat to the rest of the exhaust broke during disassembly, so we had to drill it out. Almost ready for installation Mom gets her garage space back finally. |

What's with the Vermont plates? She should swap plates with her Mom.

Vermont plates came with the wrecked '96. We moved them over when we cut up the wrecked car. GEEE WIZ was selected for mom's SUV because of Geraghty Anne, but I do think we'll try and get her a Ninja Turtle themed plate, like CWABUNGA, but that one's not available. Will have to mix and match letters to get something good.

Today our friend Scott (the '94 R body's previous owner) came over. My daughter and he brokered a deal that he would buy her new turn signal lights in exchange for the ones we had in the body. He modified them to be headlights. Additionally, he wanted his driver's seat back, as the one in his current Miata was severely beat up. We were supposed to get the frontal impact crash sensor, but it turns out his car didn't have it.
That being said, the power steering bracket on our car wouldn't allow the spacer to slide back inside, so Scott gladly disassembled his on the spot and gave us his. Additionally, my daughter's passenger plastic headlight frame was broken from the accident. He also removed that from his car and gave it to us. I guess we're going to have to buy a new impact crash sensor, but lots of good things today. PS bracket and pump back in place Fixing the wiring harness to get ready for the turn signal lights Exhaust in place Installing the new turn signal lamps BLUE HEADERS!!!! Because Ninja Turtle Both turn signal lamps back in |

To be perfectly honest, I wasn't so sure about the TMNT paint at the beginning of the project but it really came together pretty well.

As goofy as the entire car is, I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out. Odd color combinations, but done in moderation. Overall, the car, especially considering how clean EVERYTHING is, is in very nice shape. Before we're done, she wants to try and pull off purple (other than the pressure plate, which cannot be seen) for Donatello. As her web page states, this is her "magnum opus". It's 100% an expression of her ethos. |

We're almost done. We were able to fire the car up on starter fluid, but there is no fuel pressure. Boris ran out of time, but we did get pretty much everything else buttoned up in the engine.
Radiator, A/C condenser, drier now all installed. Radiator plumbing done, but we are missing the top hose hose clamps, but those are easy to replace. Starter is in, and the air intake is in, all of the remaining engine wire harnesses have found their respective homes. Installing the A/C condenser We found a good tool table Radiator almost done Looking almost done. |
