You make it sound like that's new....

A drone could read your medical records right now from two miles up if it wanted too.
Don't kid yourself.
Nothing you do is private anymore.

You didn't factor those in, in your OP.
There will be tax credits as well.
He didn't factor in a bunch of stuff because he knows when he does his argument will fall apart.

Like for starters, Blue Cross isn't one of the two insurers — Magnolia Health and Humana — signed up to provide coverage on the Mississippi health care exchange.

I think its a nice touch however, that he will screw over his own kid just to make a bogus point about Obamacare.

From https://www.healthcare.gov/

"If you have household income between $11,490 and $45,960 for individuals ($23,550 to $94,200 for a family of 4), you’ll get lower costs on your monthly premiums."

You can go there and work up your own quote.

if i go to amazon, i can shop for anything, get prices, and i don't have to set up an account until i'm ready to buy something. stupid process. pass.

And if you aren't eligible for subsidies (which I help pay for) then you get to pay a lot more for worse health insurance, healthcare delivered to you by surely doctors and nurses who are getting screwed over, assuming you aren't put on 29 hours a week by your employer who now has every incentive in the world to do so. It's fabulous!

They could have just came out and said "We are going to fine you $2k/year if you don't have health insurance" and essentially accomplished the same thing. This is a disaster, and I stand in awe of your willingness to tow the partisan line on this thing.

Rich people are showin' the hate because their cash cow is about to end.
Hopefully the money is used as it should be used and not siphoned to other programs.
Now onto university reform.
College costs are killing this country too right now
It will create a national database for/of what?

Any hospital or doctor will have access to my medical records, unlike now where I have to send a disc to a specialist if they want my history.
This includes all MRI's, tests, everything that you have seen a doctor for.
If I end up in an emergency room in LA, they just access the national data base and voila, instant records. It'll take the guess work out of it and cut down on fraud big time.

As long as you don't mind the IRS looking too, and that line of communication goes both ways

Ya, that's ok with me.

For a guy with a lot of smart ass comments, you sure as hell don't have any solutions.

Two BIG solutions
1. Tort reform
2. Sell insurance across state lines

Plus one more
3. Heavily Encourage Health Savings Accounts.

What you got?

Sounds good to me.
I would add a national tax and eliminate all state and sales taxes.
Simplify the tax code.
It's a multi-faceted problem.

Then you might as well eliminate state governments, too, since you would be eliminating their income. Or would you trust whichever political party was in power to distribute the money to their favorite states?

WTF??? How am I screwing over my kid? She's 25-years-old, has a job and a house, and is on her own now...which is the way she wants it, as would I. Your dislike of me is affecting your logic.

On topic: Magnolia Health Care is a tiny insurance company; I worry about its ability to pay claims. Humana consistently is ranked less than 50 on a 100 rating.

If you have a real point to make, then make it. Personal attacks show your ignorance.
