The penalty for littering in Florida depends on the amount dumped. Here's the breakdown:

Dumping an amount not more than 15 pounds or more than 27 cubic feet:
Noncriminal infraction, punishable by a civil penalty of $100.
The court may require the violator to pick up litter or perform other labor commensurate with the offense committed.
Dumping an amount between 15 and 500 pounds or between 27 and 100 cubic feet:
Guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree, which is punishable by a term of imprisonment not exceeding 1 year and/or a fine of $1,000.
The court shall require the violator to pick up litter or perform other community service commensurate with the offense committed.
If the violation involves the use of a motor vehicle, if found guilty — whether or not adjudication is withheld or whether imposition of sentence is withheld, deferred, or suspended — the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles shall record a penalty of three points on the violator’s driver’s license.

I'm assuming they're going to make the case that it was over 15 lbs worth of cans and 27 cubic feet altogether, but other than the perform community service part, I don't see any big penalty.

And really, it's just the driver of the boat and, if someone besides the driver dumped the trash, I don't see how the rest of them can be charged with anything, really, as long as they keep their mouths shut and don't admit to underage drinking.

I suspect all of them will get heavy community service hours, hopefully picking up trash. I understand why they did it, but it's still a shitty thing to do. It always pissed me off when I went fishing, and there's trash left by someone, or trash floating. We always made it practice to haul out more than we hauled in, leaving things cleaner than we found them.

Littering is bad.

Throwing any trash out on the side of the highway, or into the water is bad, or anywhere not where it cannot be disposed of properly.

I say this as someone who had to call 911 to report a fire on the side of the road on Monday because some asshat threw a butt out of his window.

They are facing up to $50k in fines and up to 5 years in jail.
Don't know why, but the dumper's names have also been published.
Forget the BUI, that's what they were trying to avoid.
BTW they went out the inlet into the ocean specifically to dump the trash, then turned around immediately thru the inlet again to rejoin the bash.
And the FWC can pretty much do anything, they have full police powers and then some. They have confiscated boats for as little as poaching a lobster.

Two teens have been charged after video showing them dumping out two trashcans from a boat off the shores of Boca Raton sparked intense scrutiny.

Nearly a week after the video went viral, the Florida Fish And Wildlife Conservation Commission announced two juveniles have turned themselves in.

Authorities charged both 16-year-old Michael Kirby and 15-year-old Charles Ruth with third degree felony cause pollution.

The video captured by drone on Sunday shows a group of young people on a boat in the Boca Inlet illegally dumping two trash cans of garbage into ocean.

A trail of trash could be seen floating in the water while one of the boaters posed for the passing drone as the boat headed back to the popular event called Boca Bash.

FWC launched its investigation a day after the video was posted.

In a statement, FWC investigators said they quickly identified two of the juveniles.

As swells of backlash grew, many demanded someone be held accountable.

The two teens said to have polluted the waters have since turned themselves in to authorities, FWC said in its statement, to face the consequences for violating the laws related to polluting the waters.

The chairman of FWC Rodney Barreto wrote, in part:

“This is a teaching moment for all those involved—Florida’s natural resources are precious, and we should all do our part to protect them.”

Additionally, the family of one of the teens released a statement following the arrests.

“We take the responsibility of caring for our oceans and our community very seriously, and we are extremely saddened by what occurred last weekend at Boca Bash. We want to extend our sincerest apologies to everyone who has been impacted and rightfully upset by what occurred.

“Our family and our counsel have remained in touch with FWC since we were first contacted by them and have continued to cooperate with all authorities.

“As a family, we agree with FWC Commissioner Rodney Barreto that this is a teaching moment for the young kids involved and they should certainly participate in community service and ocean conservation efforts to deepen their understanding of the importance of our community and environment.”

It's not clear to me from what's been published so far - were there actually adults at the helm? Or were these little rich white boys in control of the vessel?

My understanding so far is that they went out the inlet specifically to dump the evidence of underage drinking, dumped it, turned around and came back in the inlet quite proud of themselves.

Nevertheless, yes, they're saddened that they got caught not giving a **** about the rest of the world.

I see you suffer from anaphora as well. Going by what you post I see why you identify with Doug so much. You both have a history of abusing and sucking off females but you seem to have better luck with this. He also beats his vehicle to take out his frustrations. But here he was a man about it and owned it. You went out of state and tried to collect off store insurance. But failed when they showed you ramming your own car. No one belived your story. His weapon of choice was a water ski yours a shopping cart. Your business seems to be below par against his car. There is no way I can understand either of you but at least you have each other.

At least the owner's son was also complicit in the event since he was controlling the boat, but no charges.
That Intrepid boat, fitted goes for anywhere from $700K on up with a lifestyle to house it.
