Even some of the LAFD Water Rescue folks from right here in Sherman Oaks are there. They got there Sunday and have been working since. I know there's plenty from all over and converging. It's good to see that.

as far as i know, my sister is still dry, except for the roof leak, with all utilities in Katy. but obviously cannot go anywhere.

another few days peeps will start to run out of stored food.

Katrina had folks from all over the nation lending a hand....pole transformers from Michigan/etc....crews from all over the nation, an incredible effort.....

only to do it yet again.....

I think back to late August 2005, I was stationed in Biloxi, MS when Katrina hit. As many of you know I lost everything so I know exactly what these people are going through.

Don't get me wrong, this post isn't about me. The kindness and generosity of many people on this forum helped dig me out of one of my darkest hours. I'm now at a point in my life where I can pay it forward. So I put this offer out...if anyone affected by this Hurricane needs help, say the word. If it's within my power, it's yours...no questions asked.

I'm 3 days away from leaving the country for the next 4 years but I have friends in the area, financial resources, and coworkers that are involved in the USAF airlift operations. Say the word and I'll do what I can.

On friday i gave my canoe to my boss who lives in an area notorious for flooding, (meyerland) it flooded, he rescued 8 people.

Unfortunately Sienna Plantation began taking on water, and was evacuated. My buddy and his family including two little girls and two large pups, evacuated to our house. Were fortunately high and dry still. So today i went back and got the canoe and we paddled into sienna to work on my buddies house, fortunately no water in the house, hes about 2" higher than the water level. We checked two other homes, one of which had several inches of water the other was ok. Were watching the brazos very carefully. The good news theyve revised the peak brazos level down a bit.

I still remember the thread of you finding "your" Z06 in NJ, I think. There's gonna be more folks getting zonked with washed titles soon.

Wasn't a Z06, just my 2005 DSOM coupe, but you nailed it. That was an interesting story. I hope all future car buyers keep their eyes open. The guy that bought my car wasn't happy when he found out what was going on and it uncovered a HUGE title fraud scam in NJ. Sucks that it happened, but if it keeps others from getting ripped off, I'd say, good outcome.

Tony how close is the water today?

Info for you and your neighbors if you need to get out. Try heading south to Galveston. The Air National Guard is flying C130's down to Galveston and flying evacuees up here to Dallas Love Field Airport.

I never heard/spotted any threads on that...how in hell did you ever find your car in NJ??? what led it up there?? Some guys hauled the car there, and fixed it up along the way to some car lot.....seems like a lot of bother for the $$ any used car is likely to bring.....Title fraud?? interesting....why?? car got a vin tag they swap for another that was in a wreck, I suppose...so how in hell can anyone tell the difference at that point???

Wow, I didn't know about the title fraud part. So good on you again for doing that.
