In case you didn't notice there is a hole in the floorboard. Seriously, that is super cool, it looks solid. Keep us informed. Oh, and more pics of "the woman".

I was looking the other day for another customer who has a rod shop, he has the 24 stud heads on his (don't know enough about flat heads to know how significant that is) and I actually had the valves and pistons on the shelf, go figure.

Just got home! Think I'm going to do some more work on the bed today and start looking into what I need to do to get this motor started. Got most of the parts just have to start installing them |

WOW! What a great project!! (the truck too!)
Those old flatheads were legend just as the SBC is today. I always loved the pick-up trucks more than the coupes. A lot of fun ahead for you! |

Thanks guys ! Just been doing some research on how to set up the distributor and wiring for the engine so I can get this thing fired soon! Also bought carb rebuild kits. So I can take those puppies apart too and rebuild them!

Havent updated in a few weeks. Not much progress. A lot of little things to make the big picture come together.
Final resting place for the voltage regulator. Coil mounted. Made and routed the plug wires. Filled the door with most of its guts. Lent out my window tracks so I havent put the glass in yet,. but its all ready for it now. Stainless bolt kit for the cabs. Removed the Fuel pump just to make sure it functioned (only because I got the motor in unknown condition). Cleaned and polished the pump. And finalized most of the carb linkage. Last I started routing the copper lines for the carbs. This is only a mock up to see if I could get the bends tight enough and to see if the routing I have in my head is physically possible. Hopefully Ill finish up the lines soon. After the fuel lines are plumbed the majority of the other parts I need to get it fired should be here and hopefully Ill have a video of a running motor soon Woo! Sunny, my girlfriend helped me finish making the copper Lines from the tank to the fuel pump! She did an excellent job! After one lesson on how to dbl flare and one lesson on how to use a tube bender, she was making a line with compound bends! Hot rodder in the making. |

I saw a flat head documentary and those guys mod those things to do 300 HP. Not bad for a 100 year old technology.
