Default Got diagnosed with.......

Menieres disease. Lots of fun, woke up to the room spinning (vertigo) could not get out of bed for 2 hours. Have been having vertigo attacks at random times for the last month, real fun when you get it at work. Anyone else have this great condition? I had MRI last night and go back to EnT in 2 weeks. He wants to inject some stuff into my inner ear. Some sort of steroid I think, not thrilled about having a needle pushed into my ear but if it helps the vertigo it should be worth it.

Sounds like the major suckage.
Good luck, hope your doctors can find something to fix it for you

Vertigo sucks balls. Add in the vomiting and it's major suckage.

Damn, man. That really sucks.

Did they give you anything for the nausea?

I don't know what's causing your vertigo, but mine was high blood pressure. When that got under control, no more dizziness.

Yeah they gave me valium. It helps but it puts you to sleep and that's not good at my desk at work.

My wife has 2 friends that have been diagnosed with menieres.
It appears that huge amounts of stress brought on a lot of the symptoms.

Good luck

On the bright side, Cdr. Alan Shepard, USN, one of the original Mercury astronauts, had Meniere's and, as a result, was grounded and missed Apollo 13 (the so-called successful failure, because, following an in-flight explosion, NASA got the crew back alive). Following successful surgery, Shepard later commanded Apollo 16 and hit the first golf shot on the moon. Maybe you'll be as lucky.

Cheers, and

Best wishes, yHrar

Sometimes I think a couple of my employees are on valium

On a more serious note though, when I had to go through chemo lite for the HCL they did give me valium for the nausea and it helped. At least I didn;t have to go into work those two weeks. I was able to work from home with my laptop when I felt like it

My wife was diagnosed with it a few years ago. She has significant hearing loss in the one ear now. We finally found the right Rx cocktail to control the vertigo and other symptoms for the most part.

I hope I can as well. My hearing in my right ear is down by about 40% and the random vertigo is such a stress. Not knowing when you will have it is almost as bad as when it hits.

Guess I will see what the DR says in a couple weeks. In the meantime its wait valium in hand for the next round.
