Exemptions will become the undoing of the new tax code. reps will be able to use exemptions to both pander to voters and reward donors.

We can't go down that road. And the rebates would be aonce a year. Not monthly.

The point is to Treat everyone equally under the tax law and remove power from washington. Exemptions would screw up the power-limiting side of the equation and ruin the whole idea.

This plan is designed so that illegals pay tax. Well let's fix problems seperately and not confuse the two.

While it may have that effect, it's not designed as such. And the side effect you mention is an argument for it, not against it.

In addition a consumption tax is a camels nose for a VAT. It also creates a bigger black market than we already have. I like a flat tax, and i like sealed borders.

It's all depends on the amendment to the costitution that we pass. (the one that will ban income tax when it creates the national sales tax.)
