Default Waltz out

Mike Waltz, other National Security Council staffers out in latest Trump purge following Signal chat leak

Fox News confirmed Waltz and his deputy Alex Wong left the office on Thursday

Trump administration National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and other staffers are out at the National Security Council, sources confirmed to Fox News.

Fox News confirmed Waltz and his deputy Alex Wong were purged Thursday.

Waltz, who previously served as a Florida congressman and as a decorated combat Green Beret, has come under fire from Democrats and critics since March, when the Atlantic magazine's editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg published a firsthand account of getting added to a Signal group chat with top national security leaders, including Waltz, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CIA Director John Ratcliffe, while they discussed strikes against Yemen terrorists.

Waltz took responsibility for the inclusion of a journalist in the group chat in April, telling Fox News' Laura Ingraham: "I take full responsibility. I built the group. … It's embarrassing. We're going to get to the bottom of it."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News Digital earlier Monday when asked about reports claiming Waltz and other would be shown the door: "We are not going to respond to reporting from anonymous sources."

President Donald Trump held a meeting with members of his Cabinet Wednesday, following his 100th day back in office on Tuesday, with Waltz attending the meeting.

Alex Wong served as Waltz's principal deputy national security advisor, who was detailed in the Signal chat leak earlier this year as the staffer charged with "pulling together a tiger team" in Waltz's initial message sent to the Signal group chat in March, the Atlantic reported at the time.

"Team – establishing a principles [sic] group for coordination on Houthis, particularly for over the next 72 hours," Waltz wrote in the group chat." My deputy Alex Wong is pulling together a tiger team at deputies/agency Chief of Staff level following up from the meeting in the Sit Room this morning for action items and will be sending that out later this evening."

Trump told the media on April 3 that a handful of other NSC staffers had been let go following the Atlantic's report on the Signal chat leak last month, which characterized the Trump administration as texting "war plans" regarding a planned strike on Houthi rebels in Yemen.

TRUMP REVEALS WHO WAS BEHIND SIGNAL TEXT CHAIN LEAK

"Always, we’re going to let go of people we don’t like, or people we don’t think can do the job, or people who may have loyalties to somebody else," Trump said from Air Force One when asked about reports on the NSC firings on April 3.

Trump confirmed that NSC members had been fired, but remarked it was not many individuals. He added at the time that he continued to trust his NSC team, remarking that they've "done very well" and "had big success with the Houthis."
President Trump is taking action against the Houthis to defend U.S. shipping assets and deter terrorist threats, the White House posted on X on March 15, 2025.

The Trump administration had maintained, however, that no classified material was transmitted in the Signal chat last month, with Trump repeatedly defending Waltz amid the fallout. The strikes on Houthi rebels unfolded on March 15.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told the media in March that the White House considered the Signal group chat leak case "closed" while continuing to offer support to Waltz, whose office allegedly mistakenly added the journalist to the chat.

Beyond the one incident, Waltz seems to have a cloud of people surrounding him who didn't seem like team players. I think this is probably for the best. If it was just one isolated incident, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. Trump needs to make sure and get rid of Waltz' hangers on though, to be thorough.

We see from the Loomer revelations that Trump is STILL getting very shitty vetting. He should probably just hire her and O'Keefe to do the vetting, as they seem much better at it than whoever is doing it now.

An administration that takes actions, even against their own. You didn't see one person fired for the afghanistan fuckup and this was far less.....good for Trump doing what he feels best is for the country.

And it begins, I figured Hegseth would be the first one out.

Didn't they fire the luggage stealing crossdresser after he was convicted of felony theft? There you go.

Shoot, Trump had a revolving door during his last administration. You are right though, Trump doing what he does best! Hegseth won't be far behind. He's insecure, immature, inexperienced, has a big mouth & a boozer.

Hegseth, for some reason, is a target for leftists. I don't see Trump booting him to please people who absolutely cannot be pleased.

What's your major problem with Hegseth, vs., say, Lloyd Austin?

The "Signal chat" screwup was resolved by Walz and his deputy resigning. I guess we can blame Hegseth for the Hornet falling off the USS Truman a few days ago, as the buck stops with Hegseth. What else bothers you?

Are you upset he's returning the military to a merit based system where we don't hire and promote based on race, gender, and sexual orientation? Are you upset he's trying to get trannies out of uniform? What, specifically, is Hegseth doing that you don't like, or doing worse than Lloyd Austin? Upset that recruiting numbers are up bigly? Upset that a dozen military members got caught doing security for the illegal alien nightclub in Colorado? What?

I can see why this happened. Yep, the group chat should never have happened on an unsecure platform.

waltz had to go with all the pressure on him and the Trump Admin. He has enough pressure from everywhere and can't keep anyone who is an impediment to implementing his agenda this time.

Sundance from Conservative Treehouse correctly predicted this before Trump was even sworn in:

https://theconservativetreehouse.com...s-and-ukraine/

Quote:
Sunday Talks – Incoming Nat Sec Advisor Michael Waltz Talks About Drones and Ukraine
December 15, 2024 | Sundance | 248 Comments

Incoming national security adviser Michael Waltz talks to Face the Nation with dramatic acting Margaret Brennan. The first part of the interview discusses drones, fears and “gaps in our security” according to Waltz.

Within the interview Brennan questions Waltz about Hungarian leader Viktor Orbán personally meeting with President Trump and carrying a potential message from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Waltz notes that Orban “clearly has a good relationship” with President Trump and that will be key to ending the war in Ukraine. WATCH:

As National Security Advisor, Waltz likely won’t last a year. “Gaps in our capabilities,” is DC intel codespeak for more rules, regulations, control mechanisms and anti-freedom national security legislation is needed.

My Spidey sense indicates a CNN gig in his future. Waltz just gives off that ‘he will believe everything the IC tells him’ vibe.

Mike Waltz is married to Julia Nesheiwat, the sister of Surgeon General nominee Janette Nesheiwat.

Julia, who -like all other people who work in DC silos- has never taken a married name. Julia Nesheiwat was born in Carmel, New York, in 1975 to Jordanian Christian immigrants and raised in Umatilla, Florida. She has a BA from Stetson University, an MA from Georgetown, and a PhD from Tokyo Tech.

Julia Nesheiwat became a military intelligence officer. She received the Bronze Star Medal during Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq. She departed the military as captain. Julia Nesheiwat served in several U.S. administrations. Under George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump, she held senior national security and economic policy positions. Her most notable role was as Trump’s 10th Homeland Security Advisor from 2020 to 2021. Her Bush administration posts included State Department seniority and Office of the Director of National Intelligence Policy Chief.

Suffice to say their bedroom conversations are likely Intel Community shop talk.

While it’s interesting that Congressman Mike Waltz was selected to be President Trump’s National Security Advisor, it’s actually Julia Nesheiwat that carries the curriculum vitae that seemingly qualifies her for the job.

This will be an interesting dynamic to watch unfold.

I suspect Waltz will be the first T-47 exit.

Maybe read the assertion before responding.... The crossdresser had nothing to do with the Afghanistan effort...

Just like Hillary with her bedroom closet email server, some politicos think the security requirements imposed by the government are too onerous and wonder why they just can't do their job like they are high school kids on social media - because its convenient....so stupid.

I'm guessing the few who got fired tried to make excuses instead of saying they screwed up and explaining how they will fixed it; or they were remanent commucrats.
