Yup, Ford trucks are notorius for it. Have owned a few, lucky, no issues.

I was lucky as My 2021 F250 never experienced it in 80K miles.
Yep my buddy's truck had it, and it was quite a problem to fix.......took em a few tries........they under engineered a stabilizer, and I don't think they got it right even on the second try...........and this was on a very expensive model.

My 2010 Jeep JK Sport did a few times. Replaced all components that were obviously bad.
Steering stabilizer was original from 2009 purchase, as well as shocks.. Replaced with Rancho Shocks and steering stabilizer shock ( not sure if it really has much to do with it), little stiffer than factory as recommended by jeep forums.
Here is a great video and diagnostic site with a checklist..
Many more videos out there. Be calm, slow down and pull over, let the oscillating stop.

I figured it was a brain fart since everything else you said was spot-on and you obviously know what you're talking about and how these components work with each other! Have done the same myself, more than once!

Probably from being more focused on negative camber numbers for track day alignments

Been around forever. First time I experienced it was in 1976 in a 1970 F150. It is pretty wild the first time if you don't know what it is.

Never drove one. The few times I was a passenger we went slow so no problems.

Worst death wobble is on a skateboard. You are going down Bikes are a close second. Sheer terror! But the only guarantee of eating pavement is if you bail off.
