So today was the club's opening day tournament. Tom made an early and very credible entry for the shot of the year with an eagle on #17 from 120 yards out. But apparently that's not the best part of the story:

"Also let me add some depth to the story. Because it almost never happened.

I’m standing by our cart in front of big mope’s cart before the tournament starts. Tomas is nowhere to be seen.

Big mope looks up to me and says hey Buster, do you have a cell phone?

And I said, yes big of course. What do you need?

He said can you call Tom? I haven’t seen him yet.

So I dial Tom up and after a few rings he answers.

Hello Joshua what can I do for you?

Tomas, we’re waiting for you to get here.

To get where?

Men’s opening day tournament.

<Silence>….Oh no. Tell Richard I am terribly sorry.

so does this mean you’re not gonna be able to make it?

Well I’m cleaning somebody’s pool out right now.

<Much laughter>

Tomas then said, Josh, an old mind is a terrible thing to waste

So we started on five, and Tomas joined us on the 10 tee, to make mope history nine holes later"
