Jaguar Is Buying Back Almost 3000 I-Pace EVs Due to Fire Risk

The 2019 I-Pace has been recalled five times for an overheating high-voltage battery.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall report states, “As a final remedy, JLR will reacquire vehicles from affected customers. These vehicles will be held in the control of JLR until further notice.” Until all affected vehicles are reacquired, a software update that limits the state of battery charge to 80 percent is required.

The I-Pace vehicles that are included in the buyback campaign are 2019 model year vehicles produced between January 5, 2018 – March 14, 2019. The high-voltage battery pack assembly was produced by LG Energy Solution Company.
