Default "My Aching Sciatica........!"

Words, .......

I remember echoing in my grandparents home by my grandfather, now being used some 60 years later by me....

And then I watch Flexies video......NO CHANCE!

My lifting days are gone....

Anyone have the same?

Raw eggs will help, either brown or white. Never mix the colors!

I used to hear that shit as a kid, and was like "really?"...Well, at 58 with sometimes searing pain in my hips, yeah I get it. That shit sucks.

Years and years of wear. My profession along with my lifting days are catching up with me.....I really did listen, lift with the leg, etc. but the teenage fall from the roof must have caused unseen damages....

I've had 4 epsiodes or so of severe sciatica. Last one had me bedridden for almost a month.
Crawling on the floor to get to the bathroom was no fun.

Had it back in 2018 after felling some trees. Horrible pain. Nothing helped. Meds stretching or exercise. Went away by itself like google said in 4-6 weeks.

I can't wait that kinda time, I have too many responsibilities.....

Open the pool, mend the fence, cut two properties lawns, fulfill sexual needs, ya know the regular chores....

I've had a few really good falls in my lifetime. Most recently off the back of Das Boat while on the trailer. That was a good 7' fall

Some of the injuries in the army might also explain why simply depressing the clutch shot a sharp pain through my back and left leg almost putting me in tears a few times, too. No fun

My back hurts, mostly lower, I deal with it.
I need both rotator cuffs repaired since ten years back, hurts like hell, I deal with it.
Knees are not perfect, pain on occasions, I deal with it.
Both elbows are shot, for a long time, I deal with it.

Too much sports, but hey I weigh 180, not 280, still exercise everyday, the pain is part of life.

Bucking/splitting firewood caused my 4 herniated discs (now degenerative disc disease) which completely ****ed up my life, but have been on the mend and still working out, just had to adjust the hell out of it and my yardwork days are now limited to only a few hours at a time, then go chill on the deck with the dogs.

I'll see you two sciatica episodes and raise you an enlarged prostate....

NEVER comfortable and whizzing every hour on the hour nightly and sill never feeling empty. When bad enough, its truly a quality of life issue.

Had the TURP treatment and wore a catheter for 5 days afterwards.
Went back to the urologist to have it removed and the cute receptioni asked why I was there and I said, "You guys are supposed to Free Willy"..

The whole receptionist staff just broke up and the wife said, "What the hell is wrong witn you" and gave me "the look".

Stand on ledge or staircase with one foot hanging off.
Let your free leg hang and stretch for a minute.
Alternate.
Do it for 10-15 minutes and see if it helps.

I used to also roll my ankle around when my free leg was hanging there.

I had a really bad case of sciatica like 20 years ago but it only lasted a few weeks. I'd be fine all day but in the middle of the night, the pain would wake me up and the only relief I could get was to walk the hall of my house for 15 minutes. Then I'd be good for another 24.

I've had serious back pain before but not even that hurt as much as the sciatica did. Tears and all.....

My body is worn out from a lifetime in construction. I deal with joint and muscle pain every day. But I refuse to let it stop me.

Here's a "funny" scatia story ( unless you were Les )

My late FIL sciatica flared up as the straw needed to be baled. His doctor informed him there was no way he was to get on the tractor for at least a week.

Farm work does NOT wait.

Irwin called and asked if I would bale for him. I agreed and went to the farm.

So here I was running a White 105 with a New Holland baler. The baler would launch the bales into the wagon where my wife's brother Les would stack them.

Now this was "new" equipment to me. With the tractor. I had to pick a gear and high or low range depending on how "thick" it was rolled on the field. Drive next to the rolled straw so the pickup on the offset baler would get it without missing any. Plus I had to look back at the wagon to make sure the thrower was aimed correctly ( left or right adjustment) and the correct belt speed to make sure you threw it INTO the wagon. Now do this while driving the tractor and at the correct speed and NOT missing any of the rolled straw. The fields were on the side of a hill so you needed to make sure you didn't jack knife or roll

Things were going quite well until something caught Les's attention and he failed to notice the straw bale that was headed directly for his head. ( 30-35 pound bale flying thru the air)

Luckily he saw it a last second and turned his head so the flying bale "only" removed his glasses from his head as it knocked him down.

Once I saw he was all right , I laughed a bit .
