Always liked the CX550C styling just not the 550 part. Did ride, forgot. Fun bike.

You said it gents. I kept that Suzuki GS400 for over 30 years, during which I moved from the spacious "Westcountry" (county of Devon) to the busier southeast, where over time the roads gradually became too crazy with frustrated aggressive drivers that one day I had to let it go - actually shed a tear as the guy I finally sold it to turned the corner of my road and took it away up north. I'm sure he did a great restoration job on it.

Several years later I moved again, this time to the spacious northeast where there are open roads, rolling hills and farmland and you can go for miles without seeing a car, so I jumped right back in the saddle with a Honda 500, which is about the weight I can manhandle when moving in & out of the garage, with a sloping drive.

Some great biking country here, quiet back roads, and car drivers that treat bikers (and each other) with respect.

I don’t really have to go too far to find open roads for nice country jaunts. It’s a cost/benefit/risk thing. How much would I ride. I could take my wife for miles and days especially on that beemer. Wouldn’t be the first time. Who knows.

started with a '65 XLCH (springer/sporty) with inverted controls, no front brake and a massive rake....hell of a kidney shaker

then had a '97 SPCN (special construction 4 speed, 80 cubic inch), was a fun bar hopper

last ride was a '92 FLT with a hopped up 110 ci with 6 speed, that mofo was fun and put a shit ton of miles on it

Forgot some dude had a 70s BSA or Truimph with inverted controls. We swapped bikes. Ground the shit outta the gears a whole bunch and almost wrecked looking for brakes before getting the hang of it.

Also took an 850 midnight special for a nice long “test drive”. Nice rumble shake at low rpm then smooths out and screams at the top. don’t like bars where my elbows feel tucked in. 650 maxim with giant windjammer was like that.

Got a road bike after that. Yamaha 920 Virago. Not a bad bike. Owned for almost two decades and the only problem it ever had was a starter replacement. Rode that on trails too. Lucky for me my stump hitting days were done.

My last bike is a 1997 Honda Valkyrie. That's 6 cylinder 1520cc. First year production. Have owned for two and half decades, still no reason to replace it.

I swapped my gs550 with a dudes xt500. Bike had serious grunt but I was a canyon carving street guy by then.
