Default My new ride

Not what you thought.

I've lost the ability to walk with a cane now, so this will be my new ride until the hip replacement surgery on the 28th, and likely several days after the surgery. Cane was just too dangerous now. I had to brace myself with every step.

I miss that old gal.

Do you have another set of tennis balls, worn, used ones, slicks for when you're at the track?

Seriously, be careful using the walker to pull yourself up. I know two people who were pulling themselves up while holding onto the walker and toppled over.

Dear God, I will off myself before that has to happen. Having said that, now being down 38 pounds from vmax, it's possible a lift might be able to lift me, but again, I'm not going down that path.

From everything I've heard from other hip replacement patients, and friends, I should be as good as new. I'm VERY MUCH looking forward to no pain and mobility, and aerobic exercise. I've lost so much muscle mass in my legs it's embarrassing. For Christ's sake, I've run 3 marathons, and my calves were sculpted. Most of that is gone at the moment after 18 months of hell.

Walker WAY better than cane. I've been on borrowed time.

I have used racquetballs. Not sure they will work the same. More like Hoosiers for a walker. Will be too grippy.

I don't know with your size and how far you are not supposed to bend. It might be better and safer option than blocking up a regular recliner.

Might be able to rent one for a month or two.

No kidding around, put a basket on the front we did this for wifes mom....really handy and put the wheels on the inside of the front legs for clearing doorways easier.

I'm 6'5", and now down from 325 pounds to 287 pounds as of Friday, and I cannot bend past 90 degrees for 3 months after surgery. The bending part is going to suck.

This surgery, along with all the other events in my life, are all going to collide at the exact same time. My insanely expensive Z06 will be here at, or about, the surgery, AND, the new 700 HP engine for my 2008 Z06 monster will be here too. Add in the fact that I can't bend past 90 degrees for 3 months and there you have it. Talk about a cash shit storm. Down payment on the Z06, final payment on the '08 Z06 engine ($9k), and co-pay on surgery ($5k), holy crap is my cash disappearing.

I won't be able to put the engine into the '08 Z until the fall. That poor car only has 14k miles, and this will be the 3rd engine. Albeit, 700 hp of NA fury.
