They had a really difficult time locating my records? The young girl checking me in had to pull out the records from the files. She returns and says that my last BP readings on file showed 0/0 and that I was dead dated from 2017. She said I didn’t have a heart so no meds!

So I left feeling much better!
So this thread was just a spoof!

Couple years back I had some sharp pains. Coworker took me to the ER. The stupid part of it was the triage nurse takes my BP which is normally 110/80ish.

So, in addition to her asking what's up, I told her and my bp was 175over something, I don't remember. The nurse then asks, "are you taking anything for your high blood pressure?"

Nope, my BP is a bit high but not to worry. She (the doc) found that I have an inner ear infection and inflammation, combined with seasonal allergies. This caused the symptoms, it made me hear my heartbeat in my ears, along with the vertigo and dizziness. So to add to my problem, my sleep has been affected this left me with the fatigue and exhausted feeling. Still not 100% but improved with the meds!

Thank god no BP meds yet!!!

But remember, I worry.

You have been great advice, and I have been there done that. 28mm stent, 99% block in LDA.
Dont screw around with it. I was only 53 when I had mine put in, and I was in good shape too.

I take my BP daily, and I recently found out that OTC cold meds (especially the decongestant) were raising it significantly. When I went off the meds, pressure went back down in a day or two.

It's usually like 110/65 (with meds).

I went to the ER with super high BP year before last.

They gave me some super-duper meds which didn't put a dent in it. Put me in the ICU to give me some more super-duper meds which require constant monitoring.

Still no better. Army of doctors around me and decided to do some scan that I had to take some liquid glow in the dark stuff since my stomach was bothering me.

I told them I am very sensitive to that stuff, but they swore it would not bother me.

15 minutes later, code brown with some spectacular fireworks.

Walk out of the bathroom, 117/75.

Never happened again. Said I was the only patient to be admitted to the ICU and walk out the same day.

Unfortunately you cannot mitigate genetics.

When I was diagnosed with HBP, I agreed to every test they wanted to do, and then a few repeats.
I also altered my lifestyle to reduce all stress, which was already low.
I have always been physically active, never overweight, not a drinker or smoker.

In the end they found ZERO, advised I was just unlikely, said I should have done a better job picking my parents.

Being aware of it is a priority.
When I went through all tests, MRI, CT, Stress etc I passed too. But, my cardiologist said he felt a heart cath was needed, due to BP.
Sure enough, blockage. But, I have 3 arteries vice two. Imagine that. And I already had little veins? that had gone around the blockage. That was one reason he said I was in good, technically may not be, cardio shape.

Mine went from low (110/65) to mostly average (124-74. All numbers are averages of 3 daily checks over 5 days). So it never really got "high." But it was noticeable and I was curious.

So I looked it up and several sites said that the standard decongestant in cold meds (don' remember what the name is) could raise BP.

I'm trying to get off the meds completely (or reduce the dose) with diet so I'm keeping a close eye on it every day.

In recent years the med bureaucracy (FWIW) has backed away from that.

Really. Then why is my damn cardiologist keeping me on it..
Uggh.
I am on Micardis and Amlodopine ( causes constipation due to a lot going number one, so I have to drink extra fluids). ( I have low heart rate, so my meds are a little different)

I went to the ER with HBP and chest pains in 2006, left with a prescription for BP meds and less a gall bladder. No problems with either since.

Four key items to lower your BP:

1) Spend very little time on things other than family, finances and health
2) Never answer your cell phone, as caller usually wants money, or MORE money
3) Avoid liberals, they only spew untruths, and then end up cussing you out
4) Never, EVER become a dolphins fan, NEVER!!
