I was way into cycling when I was a teenager, and some years after. Used to ride 3000+ miles per year (I know the big dogs laughed at mileage like that). Then, spent 20 years or so in bad environments for riding, so didn't so much. Late 40s, I got back into it, and in my early 50s I used to say that "on a good day, when not much is hurting, I feel basically the same riding as I did when I was 17 years old, and I really like that!" I did a few years in my early 50s of 2000+ miles as a result.
Sadly, in my mid-50s, the legs and butt were still up for hammering rides, but my hands, elbows, shoulders, and neck could no longer handle it. I have not ridden any significant number of miles since 2019, and have considered selling my bike. It sucks that we all have to someday get old. |

Just a bad way to spend your first years of retirement, I'm ready for it to get better. Still alienating a lot of people due to the personality changes as well, makes me a bit irrational and angry. Speaking of which, I probably owe Lars an apology. |

I wish that we lived to be 500 years old.
The one flaw about Gods design of man. Image the world/country today if the men who wrote the constitution were still alive. The men who fought the American revolution. And the men who fought in foreign wars to liberate mankind. Something tells me that if these brilliant and courageous men were alive today…we would have far less problems. And none of this political correctness woke crap. |

This world is so screwed up with people living to their 80's. God found that out thousands of years ago to cut down the age of man. |

I haven't tried it yet but I do plan on seeing how it would be to ride a bicycle with Turbo on a leash.
It'll be interesting. No videos for the inaugural bike ride |

I ride quite a bit. Lately, I have been riding with a group that does serious mileage on single speed 29ers.

Yes.
Used to anyway. LONG trips. Many week-long trips on the left side of the US. Seattle to San Diego (one month), over the Rockies in NM. Hills are easy, wind sucks. There is always the top (even over the Rockies--many thousands of vertical feet), but the wind never stops; it literally sucks the will to live out of you. |

I have been talking to the guys I ride with about doing this next year. I didn't even think about someone in this group being interested:
