So what should TX do, let 'em in and support 'em? Border security and control is not the responsibility of the states, it's specifically a fed gov responsitility.

Count me in as a fool for supporting TX bussing them to the cities that voted to grant them sanctuary.

Ultimately, you're correct. What Abbott is doing, is a combo of trying to stop illegals from entering, AND shipping the ones that do make it to leftist utopias, so those folks, Chicago, NYC, Martha's Vineyard, Kamala's temporary pad in D.C., etc. can have their noses rubbed in what they're pushing.

Of course it would be better to simply repel and remove every one encountered, but Texas can't do that, even with the token help from states like FL and Missouri and others.

It will be interesting to see the "provenance" of these illegals, as they're caught doing horrific crimes like the nursing student murder. How did they get here (NGO's, cartels) and how did they move around the country. Did Abbott send that POS to NYC? Did Brandon? And once he fled NYC for Georgia, how did he get there? Who paid for that?

States can't "sort it out." States don't have the authority to close international borders. States don't have the authority to decide who can and can't enter the country. Etc. Etc. Etc. The fed gov has absolutely failed, but one state shouldn't take the brunt of bad decisions made by other states/cities.

I think the point here is that it's past time that the states exert their sovereign authority and tell the FedGov to go pound sand. The Constitution is not a suicide pact.
