I'm just.....I'm just a little at a loss for words. A political argument breaks out in an OT thread, and I didn't even participate. I don't know how to feel about that.

As to the OP, the Jeep buyer......that buyer's BEST case situation is if he bought a top flight GAP insurance policy, and then the Jeep gets stolen or totalled....burned or crashed beyond repair. GAP insurance pays the loan off, and the buyer walks away, debt gone.
