Less than one million were produced during WW2 alone (about 700,000), and production by year since 1946 was never over a million for a long, long time. 81 million. He had a jeep decked out with suspension, winch, lights, and tow hooks and whatever, but then someone asked if he could help move a broken down car a block, his response was that soyboy preop sissy phrase "I'm just not comfortable doing that"

Very first stick shift I drove was a surplus Army Jeep on a friend’s glider field. Couldn’t hit anything for miles any direction! That little Jeep was indestructible!

Old Army Jeeps were a totally different animal than the crap put out in the past 30 years. The new stuff is poorly finished, not reliable, and overpriced.
