I made more money at a bottom-feeder used car lot than I did at a new car dealership selling 40-60K cars. Sales commissions are based on gross profit on the car sold, not the price of the car.

Sorry it didn't work out for you at BMW. I'm sure your luck will change somewhere else. My SIL has been selling cars for 25 years, and it's not unusual for him to work at three different dealerships in a 12 month period.
For the most part, they only treat you as good as you did last month anyway.
