Psychic Mediums

As you might know we lost our son two weeks ago....I have never went to a Psychic Medium and not sure I believe on them or would trust them but I was wondering if anyone here has gone to them for a similar reason and what did you think. I go to bed at night and I ask him to come to me in my dreams so I could ask some questions but so far nothing.

I lost my brother in 83. We went to one several months after his passing. I think some people are very good at reading people, and they can key off of conversation. Do I believe what she said was true? I think we just wanted to hear anything positive at the time. I hope you give yourself time to heal and grieve. It takes time My condolences.

I think you need to be patient. I have wanted to dream about my dad since he passed and it only happened once. My mom has dreamed of him a few times. I think your sleep pattern is impacted by the stress and sadness and once it returns to something close to normal, you'll probably dream of him.

I don't think a psychic is the answer as I don't think they are legit...BUT if you feel that will bring you some moment of calm or help in your coping, it is a tool in the box I suppose.

Very sorry for your loss. These are empty words, but the right words don't exist.

I cannot imagine the pain and heartache y’all are going through. I have never been to a psychic and I just don’t see giving them your hard earned money. I would consider a grief counselor or a trusted pastor to help navigate through this unimaginable loss. Thought and prayers sent.

Not really my thing, but there was one that lived in my town years ago.

My aunt (mom's sister) was into all that stuff, very much a hippie kind of person.
She took my mom to a performance by the guy that had a tv show years ago, where he would walk around the room and read people.

Fast forward a few years and the sister got sick and passed away, and my mom was struggling with it.
I contacted the local lady and had her come to our house and meet with my mom, stepdad and us.

I honestly think it brought some relief to my mom, and she did say some oddly specific things to me that she would have had no way of knowing.

She did miss one major thing, so my wife just dismissed the entire thing.

oh yeah, she worked at the local garden center when I met her, now she does it full time and travels around the country and has a fairly big social media presense.

I started to have dreams about dad right away but we never had a conversation. The only thing he has ever said in my dreams is "you're doing good". I think our minds hear what we want to hear.

It will be 4 years next week and I'm still just a 64 year old kid that misses his dad.

I hear that. My dad and I shared a love of cars and both worked on them. I am going through some stuff with the cars that I'd love to talk with him about. There have been a few times I will see something I want to show him or tell him about. Very sad.

Harry Houdini spent a lot of time and intellect on the topic so you might want to look into that; basically, as he discovered, its all a fraud and you should refrain.

I can empathize with you. I miss my father and feel that I never had enough time with him.
I have had a couple dreams of him since, but not a lot. My belief is there are some people that have unexplainable abilities to kind of tune into things we can’t. I don’t believe that those who charge for it are legit. The ones that I think might actually have something, are not the kind that would try to make money off it. Those people often say that they can’t always get results or predict success. YMMV. I get what comfort I can by trying to talk to my dad directly, and listening to cues that he is answering me some way.

I spent about 1/2 of the church service today crying. missing Linda. even crying while I type this.

I know that God gave her to me for a season of His choosing, but I still miss her dearly.

I can imagine your feelings.

God gives us everything we have, all wealth, all health, all sickness, all life and at the end death.

If you chase after answers from men, you will not find true wisdom and comfort. Only God can provide true wisdom and comfort to a broken heart.

Some psychics seem to be very for-real. But you have to find that one. And maybe the circumstances have to be right for that person to produce something legit for you. On the other hand, there are those who recognize when somebody comes to them in a vulnerable state and manage to exploit that. That somebody might be you, in this case. Regardless, it's almost impossible to discern the truth of what they are saying. Mostly, I'd say not to spend any time, energy or money on psychics. Especially communicating with those who have transitioned to the other side. There are a lot of warnings about demonic forces getting into the mix.

You might find the practice of lucid dreaming to be useful. It takes a while to learn for most people (including me - still working on it) but it's something to do.

You don't have to do only one thing.

Grief counseling may be very valuable.

Sorry bud, but I agree with the majority here.
My wife passed away 3.5 months ago, and I miss her every day.
It's a struggle to this day to go on without here, but I'm coping.
I've had many dreams involving her, but the important question in those
dreams have never been asked, or answered;
Why?

Because my wife died at home while in Home hospice, I have received
offers at least 3 different times for grief management and such, all part
of the hospice coverage (my Medicare and supplemental Ins covers this)
I have turned it down. I just can't do this with complete strangers.
They call me once a month, but I thank them and turn them down.

As they (hospice workers/chaplains) tell me, and most of your unknown friends here also tell you,
If you need to talk, just reach out.
I've had numerous offers from kind-hearted people here, I just
can't handle the grief with others yet.
Someday, time will help heal this pain, but it will never go away.

Taurus nailed it. Basically a way to separate you from your money using emotions that make you vulnerable as the means. A place down the road advertises their services, and they have bars on their windows. You'd think a real psychic would KNOW when they were about to be burgled. I never dreamt of my dad or mom when they were alive. Now I do. Very cool. I wasn't really close to dad in later years, but I was to my mom. I was with both near/at the end and have no regrets. Only good memories of their time here.
