Disassembled lights, door handles, mirrors, stripped dead clear from the horizontal surfaces, blocked, primed, base coat/clear coat Navy Blue Metallic (original color). Cleaned up the door jams, paint, sand and buff, reassembly, collects a stack of 100s.

Yep, I've painted many of my cars over the years. The last time liquids alone were over $1000 and probably $1500 or more these days. I was quoted $42 hr. from a local shop today for some labor on another project. Corvettes are different to paint vs metal cars. There is always a static electricity problem with them and every dust particle in the air gets attracted to the body. Then, probably a special sealer or additive with the plastic body vs steel. Also, even the color you choose will vary the liquids cost.

$42 an hour at current shop rates is really low... I would check several references and the BBB if you want a positive experience at that shop... although you might (maybe?) get a great deal. |

I've used him in the past. I could do it myself if I knew how to weld. I really regret not learning and getting more experience with it. Have some pieces that are spot welded and the spot welds should be easy to remove. I just can't weld the new ones back on. He's been in biz. for decades. I imagine everything he has is already paid for and that keeps his cost lower. |

Aside from adding a tray ceiling to the front half of my garage and installing a 4 post lift so both Vettes can be in the garage, I have used Adam's Ceramic on the other cars and seems to work well. Especiall on my truck, with 22 year old red paint. Keep in mind that the Vette is 21 years old and it took that long to deteriorate, and I hope that the products have improved in that amount of time. Note the top was painted 7 or 8 years ago by a friend. He did not paint it this time.
