Default A prediction...

I have a feeling we are quickly approaching a time when food becomes reasonably hard to obtain. Thoughts ???

I am seeing more of a production/ distribution issue. I think many companies have used up all their reserve product or day supply inventories. I'm not talking about toilet paper, many food staples are quickly becoming unavailable locally or priced incredibly high.

We’re hoarding bacon, Scotch, toilet paper and ammo. We’re good.

Nope, there's too many billionaire political donors on both sides making money off of it. Same thing with energy and communications and other products.

I don't know if that is regional or what. It's very hit and miss here. I can go in WalMart and the meat section is full. I can go in Kroger and it's bare. Three days later it's the opposite.

I guess I have become a little pessimistic about things, but I am not worried about food. Truth is, if it gets that bad, I will take it from a libbie by force, and I'm not ashamed to say that. I'm pretty well prepared for all events, as probably most of you are. The fuse is lit in this country, and it is getting shorter for those of us who have had enough bullshit. We have made it over 200 years without a meltdown, which is a pretty damn good record, but we are due. We like to think of ourselves as educated and civil, (because all of us have plenty to lose because we have worked for our shit) but the lacky have nots who have relied on our taxes for their easy life want more. I firmly believe that it will get completely violent, and things will be unpleasant for all of us for a few years. But then again, that is my .02, and I actually hope I'm completely wrong.

Tonight I saw 7 deer cross my front yard within 30 feet of my front door. I talk to the many squirrels who have lunch in my driveway the same time I do. There's a half dozen doves that spend their day in the yard. I don't worry about going hungry; I worry about having to fight my way in some time soon.

Hank Jr's classic may wind up having to prove its' truth. A Country Boy can survive. Out here in the sticks, there's enough ole boys who hunt, raise cattle, garden, ect to survive.
And heaven help the city folk if they think they'll take it from us.
I'm not a huge hunter, but we always buy our meats direct from local farmers- usually buy at least a half a beef every March, which lasts us most of the year. I looked especially smart when a couple weeks ago, hamburger meat was priced over $6 a lb, while I had 200 lbs in the deep freeze, plus roasts, steaks, ect.
I go pick up a hog that's at the processing plant this next week to fill the other deep freeze up.

Meat in the freezer is all fine and good, BUT if the power goes out, and you can't get gas/diesel for your genset.....well......

I agree. I couldn’t find canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, green beans, brown sugar, yeast and frozen fries and tater tots.
