I just heard from NCC-1701.

He and his Dad made it through the storm ok.

He lost power and internet and does not know when he will get it back. He lost a fence and some screening but the damage is not too bad.

I had some light drizzle and a few wind gusts up around 30 mph at my place but that's about all. Not even any limbs came down.

I doubt there was an inch of rain. Probably more like 1/4" to 1/2".

Thanks for the emails guys, Shannon, Lily, Zora and I are safe in Orlando. We bugged out on Thursday and are staying at my parents home.

We still have no definitive info on our house. We have gotten bits and pieces of information from our neighbors and our house is probably still standing. It probably was innondated with water, the guy across the canal was told that there was four feet of water in his downstairs. We have a ground level home.

My boat was tied to about ten palm trees, we hope it's still there.

We have flood, wind, dwelling and boat insurance. But if sea water got into the home it will be months before the house is repaired. Several of our neighbors have offered their home to stay in during the repairs.

We will not be allowed to return until at least Friday. We will head to Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow if my sister has power and use that as our base until power is restored to the Keys.

The outpouring of support from our friends, family and neighbors has been more that we could ever expect and our gratitude is immense.

We will recover. We will rebuild. We will remember.

Thank you for your concern, we will be ok.

I just saw after Harvey we need a better way to check on effected members. Too easy to get lost in the internet world.

I just went and googled the flooding in Jacksonville.

This is not good.

The area of Orange Park where mrvette and DJ are is right next to the ST Johns River. That is the river that is causing all the flooding.

Hope they OK! Prayers sent!
