So it looks like I'm getting an Olds
My former neighbor and good friend just offered me a fantastic deal on a very rare Olds engine. It was made by the Olds Gasoline Engine Works and according to Roger, it was made about 1907. It's a 5 - 7 hp hit and miss engine and it's all there. Fuel pump, original muffler, carb and all the little bits and pieces. There is even some original paint and pin striping left.
Here's a couple pictures. Jeff 1) Engine from right side. Muffler will screw into exhaust pipe 2) Ignition system on right side 3) Fuel pump on reservoir with return line in base on left side 4) Fuel pump on left side 5) original muffler 6) original tag 7) Box with carb, rocker pin and misc bits |

Thanks It's rarer than hen's teeth too. I've been googling and haven't found any other pictures of one. No YouTube videos of any of this model either.
I am SO glad all the parts are there. Roger said there is one in Australia as that owner contacted him and he drew a sketch of the fuel pump so he could make one to get his running. |

I used to have a Gold '72 Cutlass Coupe with the Rocket 350 ( great car )
Quote:
It will get cleaned up ( saving as much of the original paint and pin striping ) and bearings checked. Then it will gotten to run. It will reside out at Rough and Tumble Historical Association where it will be run at most all the shows. ( obviously after I'm done ) |

That'll be a great project resto Jeff.
I'll have to stop by and check it out sometime along the way. Phoenixville Performance should have the Vette done in the next week or two and I'll be in your neck of the woods. Scott

Used to see hit and miss engines running a lot up in the Pennsylvania farm/fairs and they are some of the coolest sounding things, wait till you get it running, ear to ear grin is my guess......
