money? it's mostly in the bank or invested somewhere. only cash is what i carry around day to day.
This. The trick is to get the money before the banks shut down.

I agree, for more than one reason, ammo and guns are likely a better investment than gold or silver if the STHF.

If the economy collapses who cares how much money in dollars, cash, gold, etc is on-hand, it all could be worthless (ask Greece in a few weeks).

I have a safe in my house.

Get a bigger one than you think you need. Trust me. Once you have it you begin to realize what all you want to protect.

If it was just money you want to protect, buy a cheap safe that they could easily carry away.. and hide the cash somewhere else.

The key pad is only the operator of the mother board that is deep inside the door. If the mother board is OK a replacement keypad will open the door.

The numbers you set are in the mother board!

Exactly this.

I've done a lot better in the ammo market than the stock market.

The worse sh*t gets, the more ammo/magazines/firearms are worth. I have never lost money on a firearm purchase and subsequent sale. Even if I was to sell it at low prices to get it liquidated in a hurry, the collection I have now is easily worth 200-300% what I have invested.

Well... it would have been prior to that terrible boating accident.

Use your GUN safe to hold your cash. That's what I do. Money and jewelry don't take up much space.

Got a gun safe last year. Even though guns and ammo take up the most space, plenty of room for important papers, some coins/bars and cash in case of emergency

Rule of thumb when buying a gun safe..when deciding on size of safe to buy...look at what size you need now and double that
