Vette storage
I decided over a year ago to build a shop for my tools and to have place to put the vettes. I was messing around on Excel one day and put together a floor plan of what I wanted.
I wish I could say that I had the ability to build it myself but I'm not that skilled. I hired a general contractor and broke ground Feb '14. I'm finally getting to the point that I can use it so I thought I could show some pics. I did do some of the work though, all of the electric and the bathroom and about 1/2 of the sheetrock. I just couldn't do the ceiling. I made it to drive straight through to the back yard (or allow a breeze through). It didnt turn out exactly like my drawing but most of it is there. And still have quite a bit to do. But, I can finally use it now. |

Beautiful! So spacious. So....clean!
I'm imagining it in a few years. Grease stains, hand prints, the inevitable blood stains and about 100 pounds of old parts scattered around and in the corners. Nice to see a dream and plans come true! Nice garage!! |

Thanks for the pics. Now I know how to redesign my garage. In my dreams! How about a kickin' stereo with surround sound?

I may have him beat just a tad. I am still using the radio I received as a sign up bonus when I graduated from college in 1967 and signed up for my first credit card from Standard Oil Co. It has AM/FM and a shortwave band. I have had to replace the plastic battery holder that broke, but otherwise it still works great.

Got ya beat...this isn't mine but it's the same model...1937 Fairbanks Morse, belonged to my grandmom. The only thing I asked my parents to leave to me.
