Default Concerts you've been to...

I didn't want to hijack Jeff79's thread about Van Halen on Kimmel, so I'm starting my own. I'm older than a lot of you, so my concert-going is going to seem dated, but I had fun. Some of the people I've seen in person:

Iron Butterfly
Janis Joplin
Bob Dylan and Joan Baez together (A long and boring concert)
Chicago
Jefferson Airplane
Neil Diamond (for the recording of his Album "Hot August Nights in L.A.)
Elvis Presley
Shirley Jones
The Monkees
Herman's Hermits
Santana
Canned Heat
Grateful Dead
Sly & the Family Stone
Blood, Sweat, and Tears
Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young
Jimi Hendrix
Creedence Clearwater Revival
The Byrds

I still have the tickets for almost all of these.

Yours?

Seriously? You went to that concert where that album was recorded?
That is a great album....
Hot August Night.

He's actually playing in Buffalo tonight.

Oh, and it wasn't my thread, so you should have hijacked it.

Donovan with my parents, when I was little. Don't remember much, they probably don't either. Well, my mom is dead, so I am sure she is enjoying other things right now...

Primus '92 (Les Claypool rules)
Nirvana '93
Uriah Heep/Nazareth/Blue Oyster Cult (great show)
Couple of Lollapalooza's. It was what kids in the 90's did.
Rush, Vapor Trails (Awesome)
Queensryche (Awesome, outside of the political drivel)

Last one was Weezer. My friend plays in Avril's band and knows those fellas, VIP tickets, it was an AWESOME show.

It was in 1977 as I recall at the Greek Theater in L.A. When the concert began, a row of violinists in tuxes marched in and took their seats in the orchestra. Then the curtain opened to a band with two drummers, and Neil Diamond walked out. There is no live footage to my knowledge (except bootleg), but skip to 4:56 in this video to get the impact and volume of it:

My father rocked out to that as soon as it was released. It's a classic...
Yep, the louder, the better.

It was in his cassette deck the other day when I borrowed his Suburban.
Ya, I had it cranked....

Again, in no particular order:
Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings
The Beach Boys
Kiss
Billy Joel
Jose Faleciano

Pretty impressive, I know.

Oh yeah. I forgot. A Pink Floyd concert I went to. Imagine that. It was the Division Bell tour.

I was at Winterland when one side of Frampton Comes Alive was recorded. It was the side with Do You Feel Like We Do.

The Concert that most influenced my appreciation of music was Dave Brubeck at Frost Amphitheater on the Stanford campus. Open air grassy slope that seats about 10,000. That show opened up the world of Jazz to me. I also saw Count Basie in the early 80s, around the same time as Brubeck. Sammy Davis Jr was singing with the Basie band. That was at Caeser's Palace at Lake Tahoe.

Concerts I had a chance to go to but chose not to (for some stupid reason I can't remember) - The Beatles at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in '64, The night Cream recorded Wheels of Fire at The Filmore, also in SF. I also passed on going to Altamont to see the Stones. I'm okay with missing that one.

I had a ticket to see The Monkees in San Jose, but one of them got ill and the show was cancelled. I don't have the ticket because I wanted my three bucks back. The opening act scheduled for that show, believe it or not was Jimi Hendrix.
