Most money you've found lying on the ground?

For the first time ever, yesterday on my lawn I found $20. I thought it was trash and went to clean up, I was shocked. I immediately felt bad, thinking of who might have dropped it.

$150 cash in an industrial drier at the plant where I worked. It had somewhere around 400 pairs of work pants in it so the odds of finding who it belonged to were slim.

I did find the owner though. Turned out to be the bartender at the nearest bar where I took 4 of the guys I worked with when we got off.

As a reward he kept supplying us with drinks.

While walking into our Credit Union, there was a c-note on the floor. I picked it up and told the manager. They held onto it in case someone came back looking for it, plus they checked all the cameras to see who dropped it.

No one ever asked about it and the cameras didn't show anything so it was mine. I bought some nice pearls.

I found a 100 at a bar once. Also, have found money countless times to be honest. IIRC, found around 80some one time, 50 some another, 40 some once, and your random 1's and 5's. My wife has even commented on how much I find money, it's kinda weird.

My daughter found $11 in the drainage ditch at 7-Eleven. I had to lift the grate off for her to get it. I guess the people who lost it were too weak to remove the grate. She will always remember that day.

In 1979 I was 18 and working maintainence at a Sheraton Hotel. Two of the guys from housekeeping and I were picking up trash in the parking lot. One of them and me walked off the corner into the woods to "partake." We walked up on an open suitcase, turned upside down, surrounded by stacks of wrapped $100 bills and a few articles of clothind. We freaked! Some was moldy looking, looked fake, and we weren't sure if it was even real. We gathered it up, and there was over $7k. We pocketed about $600 each (just in case it was real), and took the rest to the manager and called the popo. We turned it in, no one claimed it, and in 90 days got it all back plus interest ($5671.36). We were on the local news, the paper, and the worldwide Sheraton newsletter. It couldn't be claimed without listing everything in the suitcase, and of course explaining why it was there. Popo figured it was from a drug deal gone bad and someone threw it back there and was afraid to go get it.
I bought new wheels & tires for my Camaro, headers & mufflers, Tape player and speakers, and partied hearty for the rest of the summer!!

Found $100 bill in the parking lot of the Highway Patrol. I was there trying to get a friend to fix a speeding ticket I didn't warrant. (Three cars behind me were speeding. They had just came up behind me as we crested the hill.........)

Didn't get the ticket fixed.

Went to court and the fine was... you guessed it... $100.

I figured it was some kind of karma so I just paid them with the same $100 I found in the HYPO parking lot.

I found $300 at sea world once when I was younger, turned it into the lost and found and no one claimed it so I got it.

Funny story about 10 years back, I was walking behind a guy in a shopping mall who thought he was putting money into his wallet but instead was dropping $100 bills onto the ground. I picked them up as he was dropping them and after he had lost about a grand, I walked up to him with the cash and explained the situation. Needless to say, he just looked at me like I was some kind of criminal and took the money without as much of a thank you

I've found countless 1's and 5's but the most I ever found was a $10 bill on the gold course.

Not much but hey, it was all free money. Is that how welfare recipients feel?

A bit over $800 in a purse. Since there was an ID in there I was able to track down it's owner and return it. Her family ran an auto glass shop and she gave me a can of some super windex for my nobility.
