People familiar with his role said Mr. Gingrich and his firm were paid to provide advice on how to portray the company to skeptical conservatives who wanted to cap the firm's growth.
Gingrich campaign spokesman R.C. Hammond said the former House speaker met with Freddie Mac officials about once a month. "They would present problems, and he would give them ideas and solutions," Mr. Hammond said. "They were hiring him to think about their problems."

I"m not subscribing to anything to see the REST of the story, but the one main point I want to know is.....
what TIME FRAME did this occur?? CRA seemed like a decent idea at first....
but like typical .gov programs, it turns into a nitemare, like the EPA as a glaring example....
more worried about desert dinosaurs and smelly delta fish than JOBS and so forth.....

How about you copy/past the article since most of us don't have a subscription to the WSJ.
That would be IP theft.
Surely you don't support theft. :D

Gingrich is only a top runner due to everyone realizing that Cain is done, and Nobody really wants Romney. Unfortunately Gingrich has more skeletons in his closet than a mausoleum.
Anybody care to discuss how a politician can afford a $400k line of credit at Tiffanys?

Sure. Gingrich left office in early 1999 and went into private business and made money. He was not in office when he got that line of credit from Tiffany's. Did he do crooked stuff in those businesses? Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. At least if Gingrich somehow does get the Republican nomination, he will already be well vetted.
the pure pleasure of watching Newt debate Obama would trump all (no pun)
the country is going to commie hell and I'm just about old enough not to give a shit anymore. I doubt Newt or any GOP president can or will do much to slow the socialist commie inevitable and dangerous path currently being forged...
so I'll settle for some selfish political entertainment.

I would really love to see that, unfortunately I give Obama and his $1Billion dollar war chest enough credit to assume we'd never see a fair and open debate. If there was a debate it'd be hosted by a communist tv network, and I'd be willing to bet Obamas speech writer would see all the questions before hand.

Not a doubt in my mind......but with that cubic bux in the war chest, he is almost guaranteed to win, sadly.....
