Hey Tim,

I'm thinking the 27th to get the car. You in? I've got a few more for the cruise.

BTW: I wouldn't recommend a 250 shot. :nono:

It idles at 800RPM smooth as glass which should tell you how small the cam is.

Ed tells me he and Shawn might not be done quite yet.

Not too bad 576/530!!!!!

Kevin I ran the mile 2 1/2 years ago with the 315/30/18 and it was to short of a tire. I also found out that the top 4th with 700+ RWHP the 6 rib setup was not cutting it (major belt slip). I did 180 mph and could only hit 6k in 4th and 5th. That should not be an issue this time.

I will be running Hooiser's in C6Z trim 325/30/19, within .01 of the stock height so I will have alot more speed in every gear and this time I will be shifting 4th at 6800ish and with the 8 rib setup should not have any belt slip.

Oh I did a mini test run last Saturday and I can spin Hooiser's until third even with them warmed up if I hammer it so not full throttle until sometime in third, however I noticed a better ride and more MPH in the upper gears, yea I hit 140ish:o_o:

Just got back from picking up the car at Virginia Speed. The car is a brute. Excellent linear power. A little less chop than before which means VERY little. Thanks to Ed it runs flawlessly. I was really impressed with the return to idle. Perfect every time. This is with a 107mm NW TB. We got stuck in some bumper to bumper traffic and it was no more difficult to drive than any manual transmission.

The Spec 3+ performs great. It has a small "growl" when engaging. Nothing major and I think that will go away with some miles.

We ended up taking some country roads back because the 95 North had 3 of 4 lanes closed. The last hundred miles or so was nice country roads and we got on it a few times. Traction with the 315 PS2 is an illusion through the first 2 and half of 3rd gear. It blows through traction control completely.

All in all, I'm extremely pleased with the way this iteration turned out. A bit schizophrenic. Mild just cruising around and violently quick on the throttle.

BTW: The valve covers are a beautiful Candy Apple Red with the Virginia Speed engraving. They really didn't photograph well above.

I think I saw the whole dam state of Virginia today! :D
That engine looks as good as it performs. The candy apple red covers really have to be seen, to be appreciated. Shawn did a great job on the engraving.
How to describe the engine itself........:toetap:Jeckyl and Hyde!
Sitting at idle, it's so smooth and quiet you would never know what beast lies beneath. He's going to HAVE to get some kind of stickier tire for the backs. There's just no way to hook it up. Even with drag radials, it's gonna eat those alive too.
I cannot EVER remember seeing something docile, and yet so viscious at the same time. :willy: And I mean that in the best, and most jealous way possible. :o_o::drool:
Kevin, The Gentlemans Cruiser is a true beulevard beater my friend.

Side note for Munch: We left a stop light on RT 29, warm bottle, 850+PSI, still the 75 shot, I hit the spray once it shifted into second.....60 to 140 like right now! :o_o:
I called Kevin on the cell, he said there was zero coming out the exhaust. No sign of being too rich, or too lean.
Tomorrow, the 100 shot jets go in. :D

Well, the car passed the Ultimate Drivability Test - Northern VA rush hour.

My commute is 35 miles up Rt 66 and around the Beltway. Traffic flows between 80 and 0 MPH with a few spots of creeping along. This car is really no more difficult to drive than a stock 6 speed. It's easier in many respect in that I leave it in 6th gear for speeds over 25MPH. It pulls off cleanly from basically idle RPM in 6th gear. It's like driving and automatic.

To say the least - merging is not a problem.

As posted on CF:

In keeping with forum rules...I did not have a Mustang with wide rear tires and skinny fronts chase me down in a lighter traffic area. I did not see him coming up strong behind me. He did not pull up beside me and didn't throw a few revs at me. I didn't downshift into third when I wasn't going 70 and I didn't ruin his little day...

Had the car out today and finally felt the clutch had enough miles on it to see what the car will actually do. I've had 200+ MPH GP bikes and lots of pretty fast cars. This thing could get me in serious trouble - quickly. Traction control off and the wheels spun until I shifted into 4th and let up. The 315 PS2's are worthless even on hot roads. It builds speed/revs sooooo fast in 1st and 2nd, shifting fast enough is a challenge. Maybe a shift light will help. ?? The M12 tranny is probably overkill.

The car is just brutally quick when pushed hard yet cruises fine in 6th gear at 1000RPM.

It's just schizophrenic as hell and amazingly fun toy. :D

Kevin it is awesome to have the traction issues, I have been used to it and gave a boost ride on Sunday and my passanger was amazed at the speed or tire spin depending on my right foot:yesnod:

With that being said, I believe I will be going with some 19s very soon, I want a taller tire as the car handles better, found this out when I had the 325/30/19 Hooisers on for the Texas Mile, ya I took it out for a 15 mile short Hill Country run to test the handling:cheers:

Yeah I'm surpised you had them put the Z06 trans in there and didn't just put 3.42s back in w/ the MN6. The MN12 is = to your old setup w/ the 3.90 gears in everything other than 4th because it's 1:1 in both setups.

There was nothing wrong with the 3.90's I took out. It was the M6 that was getting tired. Roger made me a deal I couldn't turn down for the Z06 TT, tranny and diff. The M12 makes it easier to keep the car in the 4500RPM wide sweet spot.
