And the creation of the Master Race begins. The best part is Republicans are too stupid to realize all his actions and reactions will affect them as much as Democrats. I'm laughing at is superior intellect.
Federal immigration authorities arrested at least one U.S. citizen and a military veteran during a raid inside a New Jersey fish market, according to city and state officials.
Roughly one dozen Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrived unannounced at Ocean Seafood Depot on Thursday, without a warrant, demanding to see documents for employees, they said.
Agents made “no prior announcement” when they stormed into the market, “blocking entrances, scrambling up delivery ramps” and “banging on bathroom doors,” Amy Torres with New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice told reporters Friday.
“How do you determine who is undocumented and who is a criminal just by looking at them?” he said.
“This type of sterile language suggests there was deep intel … there wasn’t supposed to be collateral damage,” Torres said. “Why was a U.S. citizen interrogated? Why was a military veteran’s credential and honor called into question? … ICE lies. … They use fear and racism to justify their presence, their profile and their power grabs.”
In operations across the country on Thursday, ICE arrested 538 people and lodged 373 detainers, which are requests to law enforcement agencies to notify ICE before releasing anyone in custody who could be in the country without legal permission.

Too bad TDS can't be deported.....
Sorry troll, but this is not a big deal. What do you want, ICE to make a phone call to the business and ask them if it's ok to come check for illegals? Dumbass! Here is a quote from ICE: A spokesperson for ICE told CBS News that officers “may encounter U.S. citizens while conducting field work and may request identification to establish an individual's identity as was the case during a targeted enforcement operation” in Newark.
You just cant cure TDS can ya....:spdchk: :slap:

TikToker causes panic after mistaking ice cream van for ICE vehicle
‘Please be on the lookout for ‘ice cream’ trucks… they ever play music to get people to come outside… this is actually so sick’, wrote a woman in a now-deleted TikTok video
Madeline Sherratt
Tuesday 28 January 2025 16:02 GMT
A Las Vegas ice cream truck has been caught up in a social media furor after being mistaken for an Immigration and Customs Enforcement vehicle.
In a now-deleted TikTok video, a woman posted a video of Billy Settlemyers’s Las Vegas Ice Cream Patrol van, which bears a resemblance to a U.S. law enforcement vehicle, stating: “Please be on the lookout for ‘ice cream’ trucks… they ever play music to get people to come outside… this is actually so sick.”
Tensions with immigration are at an all-time high since President Donald Trump announced he was ordering a mass deportation of thousands of illegal immigrants in the U.S. just hours after taking office on January 20.
As soon as the video went live, online users convinced by the claim the van was a legitimate ICE van began to slate Settlemyers’ business and accused him of working with the federal government.
Settlemyers told 8NewsNow “I’m an ice cream man that’s it” and added that ICE patrol vehicles do not use vehicles manufactured in 1985.
The business owners’ van is distinguishable from the typical ICE patrol vehicles as it shows the range of ice creams available on the side. However, it shares a black and white design along with an embellished fake police badge on the side – a design choice, Settlemyers insisted was “nice and clean and approachable – safe for kids”.
He also shared with the outlet that often people would ask if he was ex-law enforcement.
ICE uses a range of vehicles including an armoured truck (pictured), but many TikTok users have posted concerns claiming to be on the lookout for ICE patrol vehicles
ICE uses a range of vehicles including an armoured truck (pictured), but many TikTok users have posted concerns claiming to be on the lookout for ICE patrol vehicles (ICE)
Since the viral post, Settlemyers said his safety had been compromised and left him feeling “like a target”, adding that posting fake claims such as that can often result in dangerous repercussions.
TikTok viewers reportedly began to believe the claims and started firing abuse at him online,
One user is said to have posted: “ICE is in Las Vegas. Please stay safe. They had a checkpoint… one even disguised as an ice cream truck”, according to 8NewsNow.
ICE has been posting daily statistics on X since Trump became President which as of Monday stood at 1,1179 arrests and 853 detainers lodged according to the department’s latest announcement.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro landed himself in hot water Sunday after he decided to block two military planes carrying Colombians deported from the U.S. – a move that resulted in Trump threatening harsh tariffs on US imports. However, President Petro quickly backtracked after the response and agreed to allow the migrants to return.
Many migrant families are reportedly living in fear in light of Trump’s harsh policies, and Mexico is building temporary shelters in anticipation of an influx of deportees.

Was @slew driving?
Unpopular opinion: Citizens and people with green cards have a right not to be detained and subjected to "stop and show your papers" harassment. I'd be pissed, too, if I was subjected to that. Of course, if I'm hanging out with a bunch of illegals, I'd say that might just come with the territory.
This is a legitimate issue, and it will keep happening. For example, I was in Chinatown having dim sum, and if ICE raided the place, I'd be upset if I was detained and forced to show my papers. I don't know how ICE can put the kind of numbers on the board we need without this kind of rights violation, but we need to figure out how we can do it.

Ntrly. The people which are primarily being asked to ID are those with outstanding warrants.

Asking you to show ID is NOT a "rights" violation.
Quote: No, simply asking someone to show their ID is not a right; a police officer or other authority figure generally needs reasonable suspicion of a crime or a lawful detention to request identification, meaning you are not obligated to show your ID unless they have a valid reason to ask for it.

While I don't completely disagree with the above, I think we are all going to have to suffer some inconvenience to clean up the mess the Dems made by letting literally tens of millions of unvetted illegals into our country. If showing my ID a few times over the next few years will help make progress in that area, I'll tolerate it without complaint.

Were you upset when they would check your temperature during covid?
Were you upset when they had you stand next to the "You must be this tall" sign at the roller coaster?
Were you upset when the guy at the liquor store carded you?
Were you upset when you had to show ID to vote?
Were you upset when the SAM's guy asked to see your receipt?
Were you upset when you had to show your birth certificate to enroll in school?
Were you upset when you had to provide bank information to buy your house?
Were you upset when you had to show proof of insurance to get your tags?
Life is full of hurdles and filters.
If they raid the Chinese place, I'm going to finish my dinner and enjoy the show. If they raid the Houston Flea Market, I'm going to stop and watch.
Were you upset when they would check your temperature during covid? At a government facility, yes.
Were you upset when they had you stand next to the "You must be this tall" sign at the roller coaster? No. Private business, their business, their rules.
Were you upset when the guy at the liquor store carded you? Somewhat. It's their business, their rules, but they were doing so because of government diktats.
Were you upset when you had to show ID to vote? No.
Were you upset when the SAM's guy asked to see your receipt? I don't shop at Sams. I appreciate a private business setting their own rules, especially when it's a formal contract, which is what a membership is.
Were you upset when you had to show your birth certificate to enroll in school? Then, no. I want 'free' shit from the government, I should prove I am entitled to it. Now that illegals are flooding the schools and apparently it's waycist to ask for proof of citizenship? Yeah, I'd be upset if I had to show a BC but others do not. That's not treating people equally.
Were you upset when you had to provide bank information to buy your house? No. Private business, their rules.
Were you upset when you had to show proof of insurance to get your tags? Yes, on principle. I should have a right to travel freely. In practice, it's probably a good idea, but again, you and I have to have it, millions of illegals? Yeah, no, they don't have aseguranza. No papeles, no problemo.

Last week, I got carded trying to buy beer at the grocery store. I remarked to the young lady with purple hair and nose rings who was the cashier as I handed her my driver's license, that I was so old I could remember when there were only two genders and that men couldn't get pregnant. She looked disgusted as she handed me back my ID. The young man doing bagging duty started to snicker and I turned to him and said, "I know, right? I'm 63 years old and I've never even had a PAP smear!" He just laughed and laughed while the cashier looked angrier and angrier. :funniest:
I'm a firm believer in using ridicule in a "teachable moment". Heap enough ridicule on them and the most ardent liberal will eventually begin to think. If they are even capable.

Agreed so long as it remains just a little inconvenient. “Problem, reaction, solution”
“In the "problem, reaction, solution" framework, the process typically starts with the identification or creation of a problem.
This problem could be a real issue or one that is exaggerated or manufactured for the purpose of generating a particular response. The problem is carefully crafted to evoke strong emotional reactions from the public, such as fear, anger, or a sense of urgency.
Once the problem is presented, the next stage involves monitoring and manipulating the public reaction. This can be achieved through media coverage, propaganda, or other forms of communication that amplify the emotional response of the public. The intention is to ensure that the desired reaction aligns with the agenda or objectives of the orchestrators.
Finally, a pre-planned solution is offered as the apparent resolution to the problem. This solution may have been devised well in advance, and its presentation is strategically timed to take advantage of the heightened emotional state of the public.
It may involve policy changes, new laws, increased surveillance, or other measures that may serve the interests of a select group or individual, often at the expense of civil liberties, transparency, or public welfare.”

I have no issue with any of it. I think racial and/or ethnic profiling is effective.
If I pull over 100 black drivers, 100 Hispanic drivers, and 100 white drivers, I would bet my salary the records and warrants will be in this order.
Black
Hispanic
White.
So how many of you fishermen or hunters find out where the most fish and the most deer are...then make sure you stay very far from those places?
It makes no sense NOT to profile.

If the government was effective, they would not need to profile. This is just putting band aides on previous government **** ups like “welfare” and “open borders”.
Why not just adopt a social credit score system and be done with it? It’s just a little inconvenient. You’ll be fine.

The profiling IS the efficiency. Instead of pulling over EVERY car to check citizenship, they efficiently only pull over the ones matching a profile.
If a bank robber escaped in a red Chevy van, should every car on the road be pulled over...or maybe just the red vans?

And if I were a brown skinned American, I’d be pissed so I can’t support that happening to others. Cutting welfare would probably create a whole bunch of self deportation but I’d be ok with workplace raids too, where everyone gets checked out, regardless of skin color.

First, you're co-mingling public and private. If Sam's Club decides their new dress code is that all shoppers wear pink tutus and high heels in order to shop there, that's their business. You can either accept those terms, or demand a pro-rata refund on your membership.
If ICE raids the dim sum restaurant, I don't get the choice to accept their terms, I'm just detained and may have to cough up an ID card, AKA, my papers.
And if we all just agree that we need to give up our 4th Amendment rights to be secure in our houses, papers and effects, for a limited time and for a good cause, while we boot out all the illegals, what are the chances that this temporary infringement becomes PERMANENT? How's that Patriot Act workin' for ya? Efforts to kill the abomination have thus far failed, and look at the grief Tulsi is getting from senators, including Susan Collins, who is all atwitter that Tulsi had spoken out against FISA's 702 bullshit. FISA is another abomination that has been abused and twisted beyond belief, and is probably permanent, too, unless Team Trump pulls out a miracle and gets it gone.
That was the income tax example. Supposed to be temporary, and look at us now.

You’re trying to make a case that the .Gov should KNOW who is illegal therefore not have to request information from anyone other than that known person. There’s 30 Million unknown people here- and just like Hamas, live among the civilians.
I’m hopeful there are checks in place to at least make sure we don’t imprison or deport a citizen.

No, I appreciate you coming in and helping me. I apologize for being quick to jump at you Aerovette. I understand your POV and don’t disagree per se but it seems we’re surrendering our natural rights to the government at every turn to fix something our government screwed up during the last administration.
I’m not worried about illegals nearly as much as our own government. If I were in a position, I’d deport our prison and welfare populations, the criminal illegals and keep the productive. I might even ship a big chunk of our government employees to foreign shores. And I’d split the whole into two, half to Israel and half to the Ukraine, for a solid ROI.
Trump is temporary, government is forever. I think we need to be cautious about how much we give up for temporary satisfaction.

I’m making the case that government created this problem in the first place and that asking them to solve it might be detrimental? It certainly has been in the past.
Working illegals are not an immediate problem, we can afford to focus on the criminal ones that get caught and deport them first. Finding a means to deal with the others deserves a well thought out solution that protects our rights as Americans, IMO.

I took no offense. It is debate. As for prisoners and welfare leeches, and it pains me to say it, they have far more right to be here than border jumpers.
Is there government over-reach? Damn skippy but it is at Homeland Security/ FBI/ CIA level. Not the cop looking for a drunk driver. I am far more incensed by the three letter agencies poking in my browser history than a cop asking for my license and if there is anyone I'm likely to tell to **** off, it won't be the cop.
Bill, the Libertarian utopia cannot exist. It is an outdated philosophy. It is idealistic at best and pure fantasy. Its foundation, its basis, is its reliance on "self'governing". People are NOT good. People cannot self-govern. They are not trustworthy enough. There is no moral code anymore. There is no honor. 200 years ago, Libertarians would have thrived. People were decent AND the ones that were not were dealt with swiftly. The "leave me alone" way of life has died. You need to download reality 5.0 and pick the battles.
Like the assclowns that record video inside a police station. They are operating within their rights but they are NOT good people and I don't care what their rights are. They need to be bitch slapped.
We stopped considering the spirit of our laws and thanks to lawyers, have become fixated on the loopholes and technicalities. These are reasons Libertarianism can no longer be an option. We are too broken as a society. Not just here, but everywhere. To have micro-government and a "live and let live" society would be murderous and complete chaos. In order to deal with the worst of the worst, the best of the best have to make sacrifices. There are sacrifices I'll make, if it is on the 90/10 rule. 10% get some minor infringement so 90% can be dealt with.
I could go on and on, but my mind is faster than my fingers and I've most likely lost the audience.
