Very difficult to ship a bottle of liquor through any carrier, you need to be very discrete, or deceptive.
I learned the hard way, as spent $2+K on six bottles in Texas.
FedEx explained the rules when I tried to ship, NO GO unless you have a retail or wholesale liquor license.

In fairness, only the first few replies were in poor taste. Given the cryptic nature from both DAB and OBC on what thank you gift was sent, the thread seems intentionally open to questioning about what the mystery gift might be. I certainly didn't intend to be an asshole by participating.

obviously, we both know what the gift was. and we're the only two that need to know. it was very generous, and i'll leave it at that. i don't want to get into a discussion of either "well, that doesn't seem that generous", or "yeah, that's way more than a normal/sane person should have given".
i fully posted the cost of the bowl blank, and you could work out pretty closely what shipping would run via UPS. that's what i had into it money wise. and some time making and finishing it.
we need to get away from thinking in a transactional mindset, if you do X for me, i'll do Y for you. just do something nice with no expectation of reciprocation. the term is Grace.

This is for you.
The bowl is better than AWESOME, has its final resting place on my bar top.
For now, until I utilize for guests, I placed two custom Pro V1s in it, the image is Dolly Dolly, our 2+ year-old Aussie Doddle--youngest daughter got these for my two weeks ago for my birthday.
My wife has a taste for all thing high-end, she is amazed at the quality and workmanship of your bowl, and in the future I will speak with you to see if you would take on special requests by her.
Thank you again, YOU ARE A CLASS ACT, AND you provided to me a gift that will be with me forever!!
