Maybe, and that has always been the speculation. But there were differences in musical direction desire between John and Paul.

By the late 60's Paul had more ballad and pop desire and John was more edgy and psychedelic.
And John really was the brainchild of their collaboration. And he wrote most songs but story is they decided early on for everything to be credited to Lennon & McCartney.

Ironic that Wings was actually hard rock and by the end of the 70's before his untimely demise, John was soft and mellow. His last album "Double Fantasy" was almost soft rock. And "Starting Over" was his biggest hit.
Sadly...released just months before his murder.

Yoko sniffed heroin line for line with John. He was totally smitten with her. She had designs on him from the moment she forced herself into his car the first time they met. She was/is amazingly un-talented and to me, unattractive in every way. And here she is, chugging along at 90 years old. Only the good die young.
