Left handed but play guitar right handed. I shoot left handed, which kinda sucks 'cause the brass is ejected right in front of my face. Especially with my AR!

For shotguns, I recommend an Ithaca Model 37 ( or 87 ) as they eject DOWN from the center.

Hah, the Deerslayer.

I have a girl cousin who is about 85 now, lives in Florida. No contact in years.

But somewhere around 1958 to 1960 she won an Ithaca Deerslayer in some contest at school (yes, she hunted). The Deerslayers were a new gun at the time, and I remember oogling the red front sight as a young boy, it looked so cool.

This was a farm family, not much money, and they hunted deer for meat. Her brother and my uncle hunted deer with double-barreled shotguns, lol. This was in SW NYS. You could only bag one buck per season, and they got theirs.

I remember being with my boy cousin (about 9 years older than me, I wasn't old enough to hunt yet) one time deer hunting and he would put birdshot in one barrel and a slug in the other one while sitting in the woods. Never know when a squirrel or grouse would come into view.

These farm kids would often "hunt" their way to school during deer season and put their guns in their locker when they got there.

How far we've fallen.
