Default Anyone have the stock radio buttons go a bit dim?

Not the LCD screen, just the buttons. Drove my new '03 tonight in the dark for the first time. The climate control buttons and DIC buttons etc. are brighter than the radio buttons. When using the dimmer control the buttoms still dim and brighten w/ the control but they don't get to the level of brightness of everything else.

Is this a known issue? I have a spare radio in the garage that I'm going to swap in and see what happens.

I don'y know how to fix it but I hear it's a somewhat common problem.

To be clear the "common" problem is the LCD display going dim... not the buttons being dimmer than the other buttons.

I have thought about doing to cold fix several times, but to get the dash apart in the vert, you have to start from the waterfall, then the center console first...I don't think I have the patience.

Didn't even think about the fact that I'd ahve to remove the waterfall piece to get the console out. From what I remember at Gary's it's only 2 bolts.
