Man does that Oppo 105 really shine with SACDs. Picked up some Diana Krall, Dire Straits and a bunch of other goodies on SACD. Run through the Emo XSP-1 pre is wonderful.
Those studios have incredibly smooth mids although the highs are a bit forward yet. Still playing with placement a bit.

Dirac:
I'll probably get the full version when software is completed. In room measurements, it is very fussy about microphone placement and "over corrects" by attenuating as much as 10dB.

I was surprised at how my room tested. I have big bass issues (as expected) due to no bass traps.
I may have over treated the highs. graph attached below

Upstairs 2 ch room:

Downstairs theater:

L/R baseline measurement

All channels after Dirac. (almost all within 2dB of target)

Doesn't look bad at all after the measurements.
Is Dirac that comes with the Emo not the full version? I thought from Emo's site that it came with the full version.

The Studio spec'd out very well with a fairly stout bottom end but unless I put a different sub in, I'll be replacing them for larger towers.

I've been a Paradigm fan since my first pair of Titans I bought in '95. They were used in my "stereo theater" when Dolby was still developing Pro Logic II.

I have a bunch of used equipment for sale of theirs if you're interested in a deal.
I have a full 5.1 setup sans sub. Titans, Atoms and the matching center.

Also have some Monitor series 9s with less than 20 hrs on them in black.
I'll go 50% of new on them.

The charts look great but I lost 10 dB from the attenuated mapping. Mostly bass. But while it looks good on paper, it kills the experience a bit for me.

I know it takes some getting used to a "correct" room but when I toggle between Dirac and the settings I input into the XMC-1 there's no comparison.
I like my manual settings a LOT better although I'm sure on paper they would graph out looking like a roller coaster.

Bass traps are a must and will go in once I get home in the Spring.
Then I'll rerun Dirac and I'll bet I'll be happy.

Emo comes with a limited version which gives you 1 filter and 1 computer to use it on. For $99 you get the full version which gives you multiple filters (2 ch, 5.1 etc) as well as use on multiple computers.

Can you apply a house curve after Dirac does it's thing?
Sounds like maybe you like the sound hot in certain areas?

What about running Dirac without the subs? Then run your subs like you normally would. Most people will run their subs hot in a HT room +5-10 db.

There are certain adjustments that can be made but with the full version, you get much more control post filter.

Running without subs is a great idea. Some other users suggested that too but I thought I was pretty ok as I didn't have their phase issues (multi subs etc)
I am only running that Seaton Submersive (dual 15") but that thing is an animal for only 1 box.
Sean was also extremely helpful with placement suggestions.

That is stuff from my friend's collection. He has 3 or 4 old Carvers. At least 2 of them were circa late 90s and were 380 X 2 @ 8ohms.

He used them to drive those power hungry NHT 2.9s (original co stuff 86 dB sens )
