Default My customer story of the day

Customer on the phone : yea I have a 1998 chevy pickup truck and I need a cadillac- converter
Me: a cad-I-llac converter?
Customer: yep a cadillac converter.
Me: well them cadillac converters are expensive. You sure you dont want a chevy converter?
Customer: naw man believe it or not the Cadillac converter is cheaper than the chevy converter. The dealership is high!
Me: well damn, I can order you one for 255.99
Customer: ok I'll get back with you.

I would have told him that it was cheaper to buy a Cadillac than to try an convert a '98 Chevy pickup into one.

I assume he wanted a catalytic converter for a 98 Chevy pickup? Fugging rednecks are such idiots...

That's what I would guess, but a "converter" could be anything from a torque converter to a priest.

20 years ago at my fathers hardware store.

me: Hello, something I can help you with
him: (adjusts his turban) I want 4 of these 1 1/4" nails
me: okay, but the minimum charge is .50cents for 1/4 lb
him: but I want only 4
me: okay, they are .12 cents each. You may as well get the 1/4 lb and you can use them some other time
him: can I mix different kinds of nails.
me: sure you can, but you will be charged for whichever of the nails cost more
him: mutters something under his breath
me: sir, you can always go to Home Depot and pay $2.00 for a box if you like.
him: mutters something again
me: mutters something to myself
him: give me these for 1/4lb i will get some trim and be back
me: sure no problem

He comes back snatches the bag of nails from my hand and walks away. As he walks away he looks back at me and starts dumping the nails out of the bag down the isle as he walks.

I lost it. I ran up to him, asked him WTF is your problem pulled the moulding out of his hand and slammed him as hard as I could over the shoulder towards his neck. He made some weird noise and ran out.

Moral of the story...don't dump nails on my floor!

I have worked in customer service my entire career. I am now the director of customer service for a two billion dollar a year company. Fortunately my customers are all industrial and and people tend to be more professional.
