I will be staying at the OBC Scotch Mansion for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
We have invites for both, but wifey has to work at hospital on Christmas Day, so Christmas Eve it is the four of us at home, OBC & wifey & Ringo & Dolly Dolly.
Christmas Day I will put together a great dinner meal for the wifey when she gets home at 8:00 PM.
My neighbor's two boys are home for the holidays, the neighbor & two sons & I will enjoy some good drinking time.

As I get older I require less headaches, less people, I get more than I deserve from the wifey and doggies, I have no complains and no regrets.

I will miss our three daughters, all have been at our house this month, so I am good with that; it is great to see them all prosperous and in relationships.

Tell me that I am not scrooging it,,,

I am still considering driving to Orlando to meet up with DJ and Steve and Stikki to view the raccoon Christmas Parade.

Okay, I lied, did my only Christmas Travel last evening.
Youngest daughter and her BF flew in from shitcargo.
United, she will not fly any cut-rate airlines, she is pretty damn uppity.
Anyways, comes into FLL at 11:00 PM, I am there about 7 minutes quicker than GPS estimates due to my Andretti Skills.
Make the big bend into the four terminals, endless idiots back-up about 1/4 miles before Terminal 1 going into Arrivals.
Idiots, as EVERYONE knows for late night pick-ups you go upstairs to Departures, as it empty at end of day.
I parked outside the doors, finish my Skoal, daughter and BF walk right out, we load in 30 seconds, out of the airport and onto the raceway in under a minute.
Entire travel time was 57 minues, I think I set a record.

PS, first time her BF drove with me, he asked where I got my driving skills, I told him College of Life!!

When I picked up people at EWR helping my neighbor that had a livery service we would tell them to come out from the upper level where people were dropped off to go inside....always easier and quicker .

I flew into EWR this summer for the first time in a long time.
Very efficient, they allow ubers, got from plane to curb onto Uber to Liberty Landing in under 35 minutes.

Would do so again!!

Actually, will be back there this summer for a long weekend.

My wife and I have done this for years. First when we lived in STL and now at JAX. If you are arriving on an evening flight arrange to meet on the departure level.

I've had this urge to break out of that mindset. I've come to realize that we only live once, and there's a whole world out there to explore. So, I've been thinking more about traveling and experiencing new places.
I'll admit, though, the idea of traveling is a bit terrifying for me. The thought of being in unfamiliar places and dealing with all the logistics can be overwhelming. But at the same time, the idea of seeing new sights, trying new foods, and meeting new people is incredibly exciting.
To ease my fears, I've been doing a lot of research and planning. I've found some helpful sources, like this site that provides travel safety tips, especially for destinations like Fort Myers: https://www.travelsafe-abroad.com/un...es/fort-myers/. It's been reassuring to know that there are resources out there to help make travel feel more manageable.

Well, that's a good idea, but it looks like Ol' DJ might be headed home to Italy this year for Christmas if everything works out.
