Cool 8th annual Modern Classics Motorcycle show today ( pics & video )

I went to the 8th annual Modern Classics Motorcycle Show today at Martin Moto in Boyertown PA. Scott ( simpleman68 ) was able to make it this year. This year's show included motorcycles from the turn of the century to the 1990s.

It was a really cool show, lots of very cool motorcycles you'd never get to see. There was a Flying Merkel, a couple Vincents , four board track racers, two H-D, an Indian and a Pope.

Very cool. Thanks for posting. I don't ride, but I could look at vintage bikes all day. I once had a room mate who had 12 motorcycles, among them a 1942 BSA military bike, like the M40 in your pics. We used to go to a lot of shows and gatherings back in the 80s. Craziest thing I ever saw was a Steam Harley Davidson, and it was running. What the hell were they thinking?

I bet they didn't have a Crying Merkel, though.

I love the color scheme on that Moto Guzzi, and of course, I always like the European style license plates mounted on the front fender.

The show was $10 to get in and well worth every penny.

Each motorcycle had a number assigned to it and you got to vote for ONE for best of show. That was an impossible task with all the unique cycles there.

The owners are there too so you get to talk to them and get the stories on the motorcycles.

Which one won, and which one earned your vote?

I'm not sure who won and I voted for the Reading Standard. It was completely original down to the very last bolt. Plus it was even more rare than the H-D board racers.

When I find out who won, I'll put up that picture.

I'm up to about 10 old Honda's. The Barber Museum is a must see! Especially during the Vintage Days Festival. 70,000 people with mostly vintage euro, japanese and others mixed in for the weekend.

Sorry I couldn't jump in sooner. Just got home from Rhode Island.
That lovely sheit storm was not helpful....

My favorite. Not the prettiest, rarest or fastest but something about how raw it is just works for me.
Scott

Other than the extremely cool Merkel, this one was my 2nd pick:

Shaft drive in 1923

Good to meet up with you at the show Scott. Lots of very nice cycles there you'd only see in pictures.

Yeah it was a really great collection to check out.
A little something from every part of the cycle world.

May bring my little scooter there sometime down the road.
Although at 33 years old, it's not exactly vintage material.
Scott

Actually yours is clean enough and old enough to qualify for the show. Maybe next year your cycle will be on display
