Obama launches reelection campaign with e-mail, web video

The president pledges to focus on his job, but will pick up the tempo of campaigning this month with several fundraisers. The campaign is hoping to raise a record $1 billion.

President Obama on Monday kicked off his reelection campaign with a quiet video posting rather than the usual hoopla.

In addition to the video, titled "It Begins With Us," the Obama campaign sent an e-mail to supporters announcing the drive for 2012. The announcement had been expected and was signaled in reports throughout the weekend.

Obama pledged to focus on his job, but will pick up the tempo of campaigning this month with several fundraisers. The campaign is hoping to raise a record $1 billion.

Obama is scheduled to be in Washington on Monday, emphasizing his on-the job strategy. Recent polls show Obama's job approval ahead of those of Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush when they decided to run again.

At least 15 Republicans have indicated some degree of interest in opposing Obama.

he Launched his reelection campaign on Jan 20, 2009. Campaigning is the only thing he knows how to do. If you actually listened to his speeches you would know that every last one of them was just another rhetoric filled, me, me, me, me campaign speech. He has no idea how to govern, lead, run a business, much less a country.

He could not run an ice cream truck successfully.

Reparations always crack me up. Who exactly is going to pay? Are any slave-owners still alive? Are any corporations who may have used slave labor still in existence? And what about the fact that blacks themselves did the capturing and whites simply bought them from eachother?

What a mess. People need to move on. I'm Irish in ancestral heritage and I don't go around crying about the oppressive English. I'm an AMERICAN and I have never personally suffered English oppression. Blacks in America today are AMERICANS and have never personally been enslaved.
