She is a sweetheart for sure! She lives in the house behind me...when I first moved in here, contractors were doing lots of work, and she hopped over her yard fence and walked all the way around to my yard to see what all the hubbub was. We’ve been friends ever since!

The weather should be good here Sun/Mon, we will enjoy some nice walks together.

Yeh, neighbor buddy next door is watching a dawg for about 6 weeks, with a month to go, while friends of his are outta town/overseas for the last month or so, in Asia, where the virus crap is from......lovely.....

Thanks this is the first time I’ve had a doggo in the house since Cosmo’s passing...she actually was one of his neighborhood ‘girlfriends’ they got along pretty well together

She is your typical easygoing Lab, eats her kibble and no ‘people’ food or treats, takes no meds, is housebroken, stays off furniture, etc...since Coz was needing round-the-clock medical care toward the end, having a canine visitor over that doesn’t have special needs is probably the best way to dip my toe back in the water

Oddly enough, 2 ’leap years’ ago is when I brought Cosmo home...I actually re-read that thread and had forgotten how in a bad way he was in the beginning but felt proud of how much he improved and overcame his issues...to the point where I think he ended up truly enjoying life again

I’d do it all over again for him without complaint in a New York minute but I’ll be savoring this week with Abby while I have her here

I hate having to leave my dogs for an extended period of time. I feel so bad that I can't explain to them why I'm leaving and when I will be back.

Whenever I take my wife somewhere and return without her, the dogs walk all around the car sniffing and trying to figure out what I did with her. The look at me like I killed her and she's never coming home.

When my daughter goes anywhere she leaves her two dogs with us, Sammy and Dixie. They always seem attached to my hip and don't want to go home when she comes back.

Have fun with her and maybe you'll be ready for another of your own.
