Man, did I have FUN today!

Back in Nov., I put a new master cylinder in my '76.
Drove it around the block, was happier than a faggot in boy's town with
the results, and put it away for the winter.
2 weeks ago Friday on a real nice day, took it out for a spin to try out the new
wheels and tires I had just got for it. 15 miles. As I appraoched home, came up to
my road, pushed on the brakes to slow for the turn, NO FREAKIN BRAKES!.
WTF. No lost fluid, master reservoirs are full. Hmmm.
So I bled all calipers today. Jump in the car to run over to UPS store to return
a POS alternator I got from Amazon. 10 mile trip to UPS. Highway drive, 8
miles in I come up to a stop light, No FREAKING BRAKES! The drive home
was one of the more spirited drives I've ever had. Good thing not too many
stop & goes. Anyway, I got home, took the master out, went to NAPA and got
another master cylinder (LLT warranty). and did another 4 caliper bleed.
I'll try the latest unit out tomorrow, but it was fine for the 10 minute
test drive I gave it.
I also ordered another master cylinder that'll show up next week (Aluminum, chrome unit). Not trusting the old GM 1965-1982 crap NAPA is pushing.
I'm beat now, probably just did a weeks worth of work (for old crickety me)
today.

DUB was trying to put a 77 steering column (update) in my 68. Lots of stuff got changed (mounting brackets etc) and of course my original parts are MIA.

Can any of you with newer models tell me what all need to be converted here to accommodate my original steering column?

I already got the lower bracket off eBay as I was told that would make it work, but now the upper mounting bracket does not match up in the right. It’s that silver on in the picture. I looked at other 68 upper brackets and this one is clearly different.

Morning all

@C3C7NIC I did find this for the mounting of the column. I believe (like other parts) in the '68 were unique to that year.

Thank you! Yes, 68 had many specific items, will look into that.

DUB did so many alterations we are really struggling to figure things out.

Morning Robert, Ben, Mike and the rest of youins

Probably run wife's car over for yearly inspection

Close to 80 today here.

Bear was a bit much on the Spaz level yesterday. I was using an air nozzle and he chomped it catching my finger somehow. Bet that nail falls off. Wasn't a tooth, he either got my finger under trigger or jammed trigger handle into nail. Then couple of hours later he was playing ball on my bed and he put a tooth right along nail in the same spot. It may have smarted a tad.

Have a good day everyone

Dealing with "malicious software removal tool' on the computer today.
Seems to be stuck in a loop for the last 30 minutes, disk at 100%.
Damn you Bill Gates.

I don't believe I'm going to have a good day today.

Looks like the mounting bracket is wrong from the picture to the diagram, plus there may be a different length column used only in '68... measure to see.

Morning Rikki, MikeB

Mike I have used a BFH more than a few times fixing puters somebody downloaded malware onto.

It's a crap shoot if it'll work... Usually the best you can hope for is to recover pictures and important files and reload.

Well that's a couple of hours of my life I'm not getting back...

Think her car threw a wheel weight so time to break out the balancer and check them all again.
