Based on casual observation, I'd have to say the cost of living in PA is higher than in NH.

PA has the most rural addresses of any state in the US.

Same with Georgia. There is so much rural in south Georgia that it lowers the average cost. A map showing more detail per state would be vastly different.

Same way with California, but in the opposite direction. LA and SF areas raise the state average. Cost of living is quite reasonable in the part of California I live in. Of course, the weather isn't as nice here and jobs that pay big bucks are rare.

It seems strange that only three states are orange. I hear Del. is cheaper than Pa. I would think W.Va. would be too ?
